ESO launcher - could not load news

I just noticed (for the first time ever) that the ESO launcher's news panel showed nothing except the message "Could not load news". Anyone else seen this?

It's reproducible. I restarted the launcher, and saw the same behaviour.

I see that quite often, and have done so for years-- especially when playing on my MacBook Air for some reason; not so much on my Windows PC, but on occasion. It doesn't seem to affect the game client, although it may possibly indicate a momentary data traffic jam on your internet or home network. [Edit: Or maybe a problem with the launcher not being able to retrieve the "latest news feed" or whatever from the game servers.] IIRC, I once read in these forums that if you're experiencing certain issues while playing ESO, ZOS actually recommends closing the ESO launcher once you've successfully launched the game.
