[SUGGESTION] A Training Dummy for Tanks

Maybe someone will just say Lol just go in to a raid/world boss But what I feel i'm really missing in this game is a dummy for my house (or a guild hall) that can be used to gauge how a tank setup is performing and make changes if needed as well as just simply use it for practice to get used to any rotations a particular build uses.

A Training dummy similar to a Trial dummy that drops all the same 'comped group buffs' but also attacks you if it has an active taunt so that you can actually playtest and benchmark how the build (and you as the player) are performing at keeping taunt active and mitigating damage, and how well the build sponges in heals to aid that while the boss' health steadily ticks down as if it's getting whaled on by a group.

People tend to use nAS or dungeons. I do think it’d be nice for us to get an advanced combat tutorial that includes all roles separately though, which in my mind would include what you suggested and more.

Yea, going in to a trial/dungeon/world boss is basically the only choice as a tank, but if you're actually trying to tweak or test a build or just see if it works for you and just get some practice in, it's sub-optimal.

I actually started playing this game as a tank years ago, I took a break to try some other roles and classes for a bit, but coming back in to it with a new and unfamiliar build on a new class (Arcanist) is a far cry from the go-to DK builds out there and let me tell you - the disapproving comments, scorn and general hate you get as a tank if you don't do a 10/10 job from the gate has not gotten any better.

Being a tank in this game is stressful and often unrewarding. It's a steep learning curve for new players and it's an ongoing source of anxiety for less than new players.

It's why I suggest a training dummy for tanks, there needs to be a way to practice without getting yelled at by other players because you're fumbling your rotations, dying a lot or losing taunt due to being unfamiliar to the build and probably needing to make changes - This sucks especially hard if you have muscle memory from a different build having used it for years and need to figure out where to move your skills around to kind of exploit yourself in to doing the right things.

Hence, A dummy. It'd be nice to have something to test on that doesn't involve other people and can be reset, rinsed and repeated as many times as you need in order to find that sweet spot for yourself.

Honestly this would be useful for healers too, it would give the same level of opportunity to test your healing on a tank and de-buffs on a boss in the same kind of setting.

A Training dummy is a good way to prepare yourself for battle, get some rotation practice in without the anxiety of meeting the ire of annoyed players until you feel confident enough with the build that you're ready to take it to the grind with other people. I feel expanding on their functionality in this way would improve their overall value to the game immensely.
