For the past two long years there have been non-stop calls to buff the pve NB and nerf the pvp NB, yet every time an updated patch note is released we always find the opposite taking place, unsurprisedly ...

It is funny how they keep getting buffs to skills that don't really need them, but Consuming Darkness is still literally the worst ultimate in the game lol.

It might be time to just say different classes are better in different content Nightblade is good in PvP but bad in PvE and it is what it is.

That would make sense if DKs and Arcs weren't godly good on both, making nightblades good again on PvE isn't at all impossible if they work with monster only effects.

I don’t know if I’d call DK godly in PvP but Arc is the favorite class right now for sure.

    1. PVP: Ramping cost for Shadowy Disguise like Streak/Roll Dodge. Even more valid now that Siphoning Attacks can be used like Dark Deal in stealth, negating the only downside it has in that it costs health.
    2. PVE: Add +10% monster damage dealt to Mark Target. They would be king at dealing single target damage to high priority targets in groups, as they should be.
    3. Ranged NB: Swallow Soul - Add a 10s DOT and convert the heal based on damage done to a scaling amount based on resource/damage like most skills. This would improve the dps of running Swallow Soul, while not increasing burst, and reducing the varying degree at which the heal offers low-high performance.

This would be a great start imo to see where they land.

Then remove all counters for it and make it a PvP only change.

No more detect pots, no more sentry (or whatever) sets, no more aoe affecting cloak, no more “detect” spells, no more dots affecting cloak as well.

And again PvP only. I use cloak all the time in pve and I don’t need another “nerf because PvP” affecting my pve nb.

Make cloak work on both bars, activates automatically when crouching, has no cost \o/

On PvP NB's no longer exit stealth when engaged in combat.

Also, Debilitate is reworked to Power Word: Kill. Only works on players ofc.

Sorc's can still streak 5+ times in a row because of Dark Conversion, the same is true of NB now. There is no valid argument as to why a ramping cost shouldn't be a thing, it also doesn't effect pve where you wouldn't spam it as much as pvp to begin with. Why exactly would +33% ramping cost stop you from using it?

Nightblades are undeniably strong in PvP, but not due to stealth. If you can't counter stealth in PvP, with how many options you have, that's because you're actively avoiding doing so. And how would adding a ramping cost to Shadowy Disguise matter when Shadow Image is still there, and vampires can sprint in stealth? Dodge has a ramping effect and it stops exactly ZERO people from spamming it and dodging 90% of the Nightblade kit. And Sorc kit.

Not saying that the average build that's prepared for countering stealth is NEVER going to get ganked, but complete, never-ending immunity to it isn't great for the game overall.

What are you talking about? I would love this amazing ability to spam cloak 5 times in a row on my stam nbs, because that would be just dandy. But the only way I am getting extra mana is from a bottle.

    And…

“ it also doesn't effect pve where you wouldn't spam it as much as pvp”..? Citation needed.

    How would you know?

Again stop with these “nerf pve because PvP” suggestions. Figure out a PvP only solution and suggest that.

The Dark Shade change is a small buff for PVE, but a buff nonetheless. It's a good step in the direction of buffing their PVE but not PVP, and I'm really happy to see it (especially the animation change)

Dark shade also got a small single target nerf now that its buffed by biting aura instead of deadly aim. But there’s some neat stuff, I guess, easy-to-obtain minor heroism from a script, to cast more soul harvests and gain more 20% damage time.

However the class script leaves something to be desired now that it adds a whole 2 seconds of 10% more crit rating, occasionally procced between 50%-25ish % health, since you’re not likely to bother recasting the class scribed skill nearly as often when using Killers Blade/Impale from 25%-0% health. It's basically pointless to use the Nightblade class script when your goal is increasing dps, there are much better options in every grimoire.

You have very obviously never played a Nightblade in Cyrodiil.

Streak can't fail. It always works. It always stuns.

There are a MYRIAD number of ways a Nightblade is brought out of stealth right after they cast Shadowy Disguise. It fails. All the time when people know how to counter it. So saying it should have an increased cost is only valid to say if ZOS takes away all of they ways that Nightblades can be pulled out of stealth that they have introduced over the last two years.

Make it like Streak then. No way to pull a NB out of stealth. No way to make the ability fail.
But yeah ZOS...Cloak is the problem.

The reason nightblade is strong is because of stealth/invisibility. It's crazy to downplay the importance of cloak in pvp. You can proc strike from shadows from vampires skill, guarantted 50% damage from proc'ing a Critical strike not including crit damage modifiers and you get passive major prophecy for passive crit chance at all times on either bar.

It's not the sole reason but it's a major reason. The reason proc ganks are good is because you don't see it coming. Reason incap/bow is so strong is because in most cases, you don't see it.

Also most "counters' to stealth are only good after the nightblade is already revealed from stealth. Most players aren't using detection before a nightblade jumps out of stealth/invis, it's usually after a nightblade attacks them out of invis that they start using detection.
No one actively just spams detection in most cases, except to prevent bombblades on flags.

Invisibility/stealth isn't the sole reason NB is strong in PVP but you're downplaying it's importance if you think it's not a major factor. Stacking damage modifiers is a HUGE boon

Ppl think cloak is not important are Nightblade mains only. The moment your on the recieving part of a Incap/bow 35K oneshot double crit proc you know its not healthy for the game. Even suggesting, to remove every counter to inivis so ABSURD and mind blowing to me. Ppl often use the invis just to break LOS for a second in combat and yo uget so much tempo out of it so even a one time cast (no ramping here possible) is often enough to feel scammed out of oblivion.

"ahh its so unfair, ppl have to get extra skills and valuable potions to counter one of the 5 strongest stuff in my build, im so mad im a Nightblade player"

NB's are tied with sorc for the strongest class in the game right now. They don't need any buffs.
