Free Kathwolf Charger mount (solved)

Hello,

I have a question. According to the ESO website and the Alienware website you can earn a free Steam key (but those have expired sadly) and afterwards play the Alienware community event and earn this free mount.

I obviously own the game + DLC through Bethesda launcher for a long time so I don't own it on Steam.

'The official website also says: Don’t own ESO? As it so happens, you can play free this week on Steam during the April 2024 Free Play Event—go grab it!'

The game is now in my library and is downloaded however when I try to join this event I get the error: This Community Event requires that you own The Elder Scrolls Online.

What is this [snip]? The game is currently free to play on Steam and the official ESO and Alienware site explicitly mention and promote that you can use this events to grab the mount.

Do other people have this issue and is this false communication or is this just an issue with my account?

if you haven't: steam has to be set on public somewhere at profile at security (similar any other 3rd parti service that needs to sync steam), i think there was also on the site button to link and sync(?) steam.

(i have eso also on steam so no idea if there is a problem the free week)

steam counts as time played even when only launcher is up, but not in game.

That solved the issue.

I usually have my privacy setting fully on and that usually isn't a problem for plugins.

This thread can be locked down by mods and moved to the support section becaust it may be helpfull in for other in the future.

No off to score that mount before the free weekend is over
