Just stop playing (ranked) ToT, it will make your days way better, trust me. Haven’t played for three weeks now and my mood drastically increased compared to the times I’ve played multiple matches a day. It‘s just not worth it especially with this broken RNG.

Agree. Been complaining about it for months now. Between the tavern and the brutal shuffles, if you are not on the winning side of the RNG you are either dying a slow death or getting whipped. Played one yesterday where my opponent got 17 coin on his third hand of the game thanks to multiple Ebony Mine cards to build his fortune followed by a Currency Exchange and two Midnight Raids, with the Raids coming back to back. Which, by my turn, had been replaced by 3 Elder Witch cards. Hooray.

One would think that was enough of an insult to injury, only to see on the shuffle, he got to play all three of those cards immediately with a Luxury Exports while I got the predictable trash including 2 base coin cards.

Only upside is you can immediately tell what side you are on so you don't get your hopes up

ToT getting you down? Feel like the RNG is always against you? Feel like breaking your computer every time you get bad hands after bad hands? Here is something nice for you to cheer up:

No idea why it popped up on my home but it cured my sadness over ToT immediately.

    Great game design...

Players who only picks RNG spam decks, thus ruining 100% of matches by devolving them to gambling, do so because they get rewarded with nonsense like this.

The devs should be ashamed of themselves for programing crap like this into the game, and doubly ashamed for not bothering to fix it STILL.

Unfortunately, the sad truth of game design (and many other things) is that people who are fundamentally different and want different things are expected to, no, demanded to sit in a big happy circle and languish.
    Don't tank

The RNG in ToT has always been suspect to me. It's just very difficult to prove from our side without access to a large pool of data and the transparency needed to know what the code or algorithm is.

I probably would've have lost this game if I didn't get all these contact cards. It feels like I'm "allowed" to win my first one or two games of the day before being baited into a loss streak.

While I understand "luck" will always be a point of this game, there is a very clear seeding that happens in TOT. It is mathematically next to impossible to have SUCH a high frequency of compounding contract cards. It's also mathematically very improbable that if a player only has 2 cards of a matching color in a large deck, those 2 cards come up hand after hand despite the factorials of true randomness suggesting it should happen next to never.

I understand cognitive bias will impact this somewhat, but there are just WAY too many documented examples of "once in a lifetime" RNG happening every third game. There is very clearly seeding in both tavern and draw "RNG," and a more complex algorithm than simple true chance. It would be very difficult to convince me otherwise at this point, and also would not make sense given other areas of ESO's coding that we understand more concretely.

Has anyone noticed with Pelin it will sometimes fall into pattern of Pelin card -> Other card -> Pelin Card when purchasing from the Tavern? I've lost and won quite a few games when this pattern occurs because it could mean double Siege Weapon Volley for one player.

‘RNG’ has become so trashed in this game it’s actually absurd. Ok ZoS if you want to give someone a win so they can level great, send me a message “We’ve rigged this game so your opponent can win.” Then let me forfeit. At least that way I can move on. I guess like the rest of the game at the moment it’s just trash.

Today I decided to give up with ToT for good. I like plying card games, but ending every day just frustrated and angry does not feel good and is not a productive way to spend ones time, neither is playing this card game.

The RNG is broken, or rigged, I don't know, but something is going on. I see people getting cards that in my situation would never show up in that order. Just today I was in a situation where I lost because I had the good cards, I had the combos, but I never SAW those cards. I've lost a game where I had 41 prestige and opponent had 18, and the game decided to treat them with two tithes in one sitting and they could also use them both. Why you can use Psijic patron when opponent has no agent to knock out, I don't know, but that day I learned that you can do that. Too often I sit and watch people practically playing with themselves because the game just keeps feeding them with good cards, for some reason that never seems to happen to me. I don't know why, I've seriously tried to observe this phenomenon but can't find a reason. I've tried all possible decks, all possible combinations and every time I find something that might work for me, after 2-3 games the RNG decides that's enough and I begin to lose IN EVERY GAME until I've lost all my points.

I wanted to get to Rubedite, just for rewards and achievement, this season but it is just useless. I absolutely accept that I'm not a best player, I'm not even close to being a good player, I don't even aim to have good ranks, I just want to have a fun game now and then. And I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one feeling this way.

This topped with trolls and passive aggressive people who do just anything to make you quit so they get an easy win, yeah, there are better ways to spend time than playing this game.

We haven't called on @ZOS_Kevin in a while, so just want to reiterate some of the issues that are still occurring due to what is suspected to be an RNG seeding issue.
    • Replacing cards only end up with the same card showing up again as the replaced card. This can cause people to lose games since they waste their gold/power on card replacement just so that same card appears again and can be acquired by the opponent the next turn.
    • Cards can sometimes show up in a pattern like Pelin Card -> Other Card -> Pelin Card. This gives an unfair advantage since one player will likely start to build combos very quickly or be able to buy multiple good cards in successive turns.
    • Card shuffle can result in your hand being filled with mostly coin cards as the game "suspiciously" places all your bought cards either for the next turn or spaced out so they don't combo (example: coin/Crow card/coin/Hlaalu card/coin). This delay can cause a person to lose since they effectively will skip a turn or multiple turns.
    • Multiple contract cards successively appear in the tavern or seeing repeat cards appear. Similar to the above, this provides an unfair advantage due to the combo effects of these cards or a player being able to quickly buy the same copy of multiple strong cards.

As a reminder, this is a video I had posted earlier where the cards fall into a pattern of Customs Seizure->Other Card->Customs Seizure->Other Card->Customs Seizure->Other Card

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUidqR3YXRo

Here is a typical screenshot of multiple contact cards of the same patron appearing in one turn. This is 16 power in one turn, close to half the needed prestige to reach 40. In all likelihood, this should probably be a lower chance event, but there are periods of time where it feels like this RNG seeding issue is affecting contract cards and making combos like this appear more frequently.
