Last i played Mag-Blade over 4 years ago' (returned player)
I loved it! was great damage, Great sustain, Now i play it it feels awful, Maybe just because i have been so absent and build and gears are out of date?
But just feels so rubbish at damage and sustain.
I could solo WB on it .. now i am struggling a non dlc vet dung.
Any advice would be great. As this was my favourite Class.

Because it is rubbish on damage. Magblade is one of the worst specs on the game. Stamblade is also really bad, you shouldn't play PvE as NB in general as a DD/Tank, this is coming from a NB main. The bad NB situation is present since update 35 and it just went downhill constantly from there regarding PvE.

Play literally any other class in PvE.

It’s my favorite class too, but with this patch they pretty much buried nightblade 6ft deep in pve. I gave up after a few hours practicing.

Moved all the gear to the sorcerer, ran a quick 2 parses and got 15k more dps. So if single target damage matters to you, probably go with sorcerer. I lack the motivation to bother with any more of it

PvE Nightblade DPS is the lowest DPS.
Single DPS is garbage, AoE DPS is garbage.
The most complex skill rotation, very poor the lowest DPS.

Nightblade is fine. Just need to use the right abilities.
Survivability is good this patch. MagBlade got a rework of siphoning strikes, to have increased auto healing. You can still use it as a sustain tool.
Sustain is actually so good that you can run BiStat food or TriStat. And that in turn helps survivability.

Agreed, it wasn't easy for a long time, but this patch it is.

Your opinion is only valid in solo PvE.
Survival and sustain are meaningless in Trials and Group Dungeons.
Is NB good at solo PvE? But other classes are better than NB.
Also solo PvE is all too easy to be worth discussing.

For example, when comparing Sorc and NB, Sorc's DPS is over 10% better.
Anyone who thinks this is "okay" is just having fun bullying NB.

Magblade is currently the strongest class in the game for PvP. They have the strongest burst damage and the strongest burst heal in the game, plus cloak and access to more major and minor buffs than any other class.

I wouldn't call NB "the" best class in PvP, but they are in a place, that suits them splendidly.

It would appear someone deemed it worth discussing after all.

This notion is ridiculous. Noone is bullying anyone here. It's just that people can have different opinions. It's quite normal. And totally acceptable.

I only play PvE OakenMages and OakenArchers.

My magblade kind of breaks my heart. She is very fun to play and can do the job (for me that means soloing most non-DLC WBs and most non-DLC dungeons on normal) but her damage is low compared to my archers and other mages.

Of note, I find Merciless Resolve to be distracting enough in its use as to cause a dps loss - better dps without it. And the permaglow is absolutely a no go. Why adventure if you can't look good doing it? ;)

This is the place to talk about PvE Nightblade DPS.
I'm talking about how bad PvE Nightblade DPS is.
There's no point in you talking about PvP here.

Solo PvE is becoming easier and easier for the last few years. Almost every character can solo non-DLC WBs, it was a different situation 4 years ago. Solo PvE is not worth discussing anymore as with pale order, oakensoul and everything solo is easy.

I can put the sets I'm using on my NB on any of my other dps toons from any other class and do significantly more dps with a simpler rotation, sometimes even as a one bar build. You can do end game numbers, but it's the lowest end of the end game numbers you can achieve in PVE, and you'll probably struggle to join a group that's even somewhat competitive at end game. Its the self perpetuating "this class is good in pvp, can't buff it for pve" mentality that Zos has. If Zos would just balance the game modes separately, this problem would go away.

Wrong. This is simply untrue and biased.

The entire Necrom chapter has been largely criticized for its increased difficulty.
The final Boss fight of the zone story was initially a much criticised mess, because some players couldn't defeat it. It turned out to be a mechanic they didn't understand. But there was more.

The WBs are a step up from High Isle. Some have lengthy invulnerability phases and crazy one hit mechanics.

There is Bastion Nymic, which had to be toned down several notches in difficulty, because a lot of players had problems defeating the seekers to even enter the Bastion itself. Let alone get anywhere within, because the Bastion was clearly a veteran DLC Dungeon turned public dungeon.
And then there is Infinite Archive, with is intended and designed as a difficulty crawl.

What we had over the last three to four years was a ridiculous amount of power creep, because of all the stuff that has been added and altered. Sets first and foremost. Many more buffs are available now, through several attempts to "balance" the game. And then there is a new class, which is, to put it mildly, over performing.

When one changes perspective one sees things more clearly.

I was talking about non-DLC, highlighted non-DLC and you highlighted DLC ones kekw.

Also I don't particularly care if it's easier to solo it because of power-creep or because of content-nerfs, it's still easier to solo it.

Solo play is very easy for both Infinite Archive and DLC WB and Nymic.
Use "Oakensoul Ring" and "Sergeant's Mail".
There is no solo boss that cannot be defeated with Lightning Staff's heavy attack.

Player can easily play solo with this in any class.

Resources are infinite, survivability is high, and AoE damage is excellent.
It makes no sense to talk about solo play, because any class is capable of equal solo play.

PvE DPS here means end content.
Namely "DLC Group Dungeons" and "Trials".
    Solo play? Hahaha, nice joke.

Just gotta say, through thick and thin I have stuck with my magblade main in PvE and perform JUST fine against all other classes. While the state of the game certainly isn't favored towards magblade, if you've been playing one for 10 years, you'll be able to hold your own anyways.

You CAN hold onto it but it's pure copium. When I got to another class I get 10-15k DPS in content. But I only play nightblades because I don't like playing other classes after trying. They CAN do content but pure copium, isn't worth the amount of thinking/rotation/uptime/gear you have to use to be competitive.
