questions about pvp and gold venders

So what is the currency used for gold venders , and where are the gold venders at?

i suck at pvp, so do i have to actually get kills to get this currency?
i have some pvp weapons needed for my build, but if i need to actually secure kills it might be a problem for me.

The Golden appears at your alliance base every weekend and sells dungeon monster sets and jewelry, not sure what else. She sells for gold and for AP (the pvp currency). If you’re looking for pvp weapons, then you can go to where the boxes are sold and buy with AP but its random. Can also buy from guild traders for gold and get exactly what you need or do the PvE quests and get gear that way.

everything on the gold vendor can be bought with both AP and gold, with the exception of during the whitestrake pvp event when everything only can be bought with AP

normally there is a selection of 2 monster items (either head or shoulder), and i think 4 sets of jewelry

during the whitestrake event, the first weekend is only pvp set necklaces and the other weekend is pvp set rings

Deadly Strike is a cyrodiil set. You can buy coffers with random Deadly Strike pieces from the specialty merchant in the town of Bruma, if your alliance controls that town. The coffers can only be purchased with Alliance Points, earned by participating in Alliance War or Battleground activities.

The pieces are Bind on Equip and can be sold by players for gold, so you can sometimes find them listed in guild traders.

That event just ended. It will be awhile before those are back in the Golden

If they are really destroyed there is always a small way between the gates.
Look on the map for the dotted lines between the gates:

But maybe you didn't realized that you can buy all your stuff at guild stores...?
Yes, weapons are very expansive but you can't buy them in Bruma without random lottery and for AP. (afaik)

reason why i wanted to buy them with ap, I'm almost broke when it comes to gold, i have 27k to my name cause i bought a bunch of intricate gear to deconstruct to get my blacksmithing, woodworking, and clothing to 50.

That's what actually got me into PVP. I was ANTI-PVP then learned about the gold vendor so decided to give it a try as the shoulders were RNG from the Undaunted Boxes at the time. Been PVPing ever since.

Is this an entirely separate unrelated question?

Or di you think you must get past milegates or scroll temple gates to get to a vendor? Because you do not.

related question, I was trying to get to bruma from the starting ebonheart pact area you start in after entering cyrodel.
i wanted to map out in my head how to get there for when the gold vender is there on the weekends.

i could not find a way around these gates, i rode around all over the place and could not find a way around them, there are walls around them and i can't get past them.

if the milegate doesnt have a big black X on it, then you can just walk through it, you dont go through the gate itself you walk around it

Assuming the mile gate is not entirely destoyed. You walk right up to the lowered portcullis. Look left or right. You will see short stairs. Go up the strairs to go around the lowered portcullis. You will be on the other side of the mile gate.

Your color (red) will have to own Bruma for you to use the vendor. If you are this new, you will probably have trouble taking Bruma by yourself.

You can go to one of your Alliance main spots and looking for Elite Gear Vendor icon on the map. You can buy whatever you need from this vendor instead of going all the way to Bruma.

Bruma is slightly cheaper for the same thing, tho.

You don't have to kill other players to earn alliance points.
If you get an add-on called "Cyr-hud" you can see what keeps your alliance (EP) is sieging.
You go to the keep and if you are on the grounds when it is captured, you earn AP, you also earn AP by capturing resources around the keeps.
You should take the tutorial at the starting gate to learn how to siege. This also gives you two alliance ranks plus some AP.
You should have a maxed speed mount to get around.
The best way to buy armor at Bruma is to go to one of the non-Gray host cyrodil zones (eg no cp or standard), log in at a time when it is almost all EP and they hold Bruma. This decreases your risk of getting blown up...but, you willd die lots of times anyway in pvp
2 GOs, an overlord and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP

If your faction controls Bruma and the surrounding keeps you can port directly there without riding.

If they don’t control it you won’t be able to use the vendor there without fighting the guards and taking the flags.

The white gates are called mile gates. They can be sieged and destroyed to prevent players from traveling. You can either buy gate and bridge repair kits and fix a gate to get through or use the tunnel just southwest of Kingscrest keep to bypass the gates. Look for a dotted line path on the map to find the tunnel entrance.

I stop reading further here - so maybe somebody else already told you the answer?

But in my answer above I already told you how to pass and linked a map...
(that was exactly written in case you are broke :D )

    Yes!

But the gear at the starting location is slightly more expensive than if you went to Bruma.

But you cannot always go to Bruma. Bruma must be red for you to talk to the vendor. To turn Bruma red, you must capture it. To capture it as a new player takes 3 people. More experienced players can capture it alone.

You don't need to go to the gates, if you go to Cyrodiil on the right character at the right time.
    Use the transitus shrines.

You can find a transitus shrine in each alliance base camp. They don't show up on the local map, but they're more or less in the centre of the camp and look like this: ON-place-Transitus_Shrine.jpg

With the transitus shrine, you can teleport to each place that is connected to it with the colored lines
    648474cf31c04OHpdmUmNY1ebCE6kDkLld3nylClkTADdqm3u1ZM0.jpg

In this example, you can instantly travel to Bruma (top centre) on a red character. When you arrive there, memorize where the transitus shrine is, so you can find your way back when you're done. (Because it doesn't show on the local map of Bruma either)

You can find the merchants near the merchant flag.

While you are at Bruma, I'd also do the repeatable quests, from the questgivers at the Manor House and the Chapel. Those are short and easy PvE quests, up to a maximum of 10 a day in total. For each of them you'll get a box containing a random set item, which might be a Deadly Strike item. Could save you some cash, if you're lucky.

are you nervous going in to cyrodiil and traveling around?

have you been involved in any alliance fights?

have you had to fight another player 1 on 1?

and here comes the obligatory: pvp is the true end game
