unless you are already hitting top dps on the server as arcanist as only main im guessing nobody will really notice any difference with what i know about what they are doing 7% decrease in beam damage i think, yes it seems a little drastic to me too kind of like stealing from the poor to give to the rich kind of thing but hey this is eso nowadays right ? apparently the very hard to believe reason is to promote more complicated rotations. i have not seen any spoilers on the upcoming update but im hoping there will be a way with the new skill system to get it back and just continue playing the arcanist as i do now (not very complicated rotations)

Sir (Madam, etc), this is a Wendy's PVP thread.

No reason to use Beam in PvP...it sucked already. Anybody can just dodge out of the way, and then you're left with no crux to beam again or use impervious runeward.
The nerf that's coming to masters dual wield will do enough to nerf arcanist in PvP all by itself.. and not just Arcanist, but any PvP cheese build with masters dual wield and every point into health.
Everyone will have to sacrifice health stats now if they want to use masters dual wield. Can't be both tank and high damage anymore.
I mean, sure. The upcoming nerf will help tone down the damage in PVE a bit. But that won't help you folks in pvp. Not that Arcanist is very good in pvp anyway, and the beam nerf only really tones it down in PVE. They're good at surviving, but they don't really have anything with the power to take people out unless you don't know how to deal with them. Can be a pain to kill though, I guess. Don't really see why PVP players of all people want Arcanist nerfs. They're not that threatening.

Arcanists are indeed not particularly threatening IF they use standard sets. Arm a 40K+ health arcanist with the usual arsenal of procs (Maarselok, MDW, Vateshran + whcihever other proc you want) and they can happily sit behind a shield whilst the procs generate damage.
is it cheesy? yes
Is it boring? terribly
Can you train a parrot to adopt that same playstyle? yes
Is it effective? totally
At least cheesy Proc Sorcs have less defences

So nerf the cheese proc sets. Classes should never be nerfed because of sets. Revive overnerfed classes like templar and necro.
