i need portals, weather control, and furniture clicking together too.

However being able to search for furniture in a crafting station would be the most useful.

    and gardening would be fun

In addition to structures, I'd also like boulders to match more of the stone in houses that have unique stone. It would be cool to make caves that match Systres or Blackreach styles, for example. If only each zone came with more environment-matching furnishings like that--the Vvardenfell volcanic rocks are a great example.

Slots. It's 2024, the old stuff about performance issues quite simply does not hold anymore - they didn't back in 2020/2022 either for that matter, seeing as how there are Notable houses both huge and with more constricted spaces, and that's what impacts the performance the most. Not to mention that despite the "performance" concern bigger and more resource intensive houses have been released! Seaveil Spire for instance. It's huge, it comes with plenty of particle effects, shadows and reflections even without a furnishings... and are we to believe there are performance concerns? Please.
Besides, housing enthusiasts tend to spend a lot of money, hell we're probably the highest spenders, and still after years and years of asking the furniture slots issue has been met with deafening silence and/or less-than-convincing motivations.

I'd like to see more items that can be directly earned.

Personally, I find myself hitting a loop of finding a house I like and buying it then going to decorate and finding most of the decorations I have provide little meaning and the cost of finishing it runs more than I want to spend so I stop until I see the next house that I decide I want.

I don't really participate in housing because I'm just not good at decorating (I'm blown away by some of the decorated houses I've seen!). If there were interesting interactive activities, I'd likely spend more time in my numerous houses that I currently only use as port locations.

I've been asking for a furniture crafting station for a long time now. It's a pain to go to 3 different stations just to see what beds I can make.

They also need to divide the patterns in the crafting stations into subcategories like the housing editor does. So instead of just having a Parlor category with a huge list to scroll through, it would have subcategories such as Carpets and Rugs, and Tapestries etc..

    1. Weapons/Armour furnishings (it's become a complete joke that these are not already in place)

    2. Activities/Interactions within a house (or grounds) ... eg, fishing pools, harvest-able gardens

    3. Furnishings decon

I do also support the introduction of more structural sets to complement each style. However, I am a house builder/customiser so I get a lot of fun from trying to create something using the limited resources. It's a challenge, and I don't want that challenge removed. That's why I really don't even think increased slots is a good idea - plus I'm fairly sure it'e never gonna happen. Better off combining our collective will on weapons & armour.

I honestly feel like this is going to be the new housing feature we get. People complain about, from what I've seen, housing slots and furniture space the most, so what's a roundabout way to giving us more space? Being able to craft them and decon them. That's probably the real thing, just being able to deconstruct furniture, which will probably give us some bast, or resin, or whatever furniture mat you used to craft an item back.

I'd love more slots tho, bc I could do so much in my Xanmeer with only like 100-150 general slots. Of course more slots for mounts/pets/houseguests as well, but I guess we'll see.

All great ideas and a difficult choice but I’ve chosen the crafting bench as I can never guess which one to use when I want a specific item of furniture. As mentioned by SilverBride, many items are spread over three or more and are not grouped together as you would expect. There seems to be no logic for the places some items are found and the more recipes you have, the longer it takes to search. I’d also like to be able to decon unwanted furniture for materials.

Personally, the furnishing limit doesn’t really bother me but I would like the limits increased for adding pets, assistants, guests and collectibles. Even better if the guests could sit and also perhaps interact with crafting stations (like Skyrim) to make homes more lived in. Also, more furniture our characters can interact with like beds and I too love the new readable tones.

I’d also appreciate an overhaul of the decorating process for consoles as I often struggle to place my furnishings exactly where I want them. Selecting some pieces changes the camera perspective so you can’t see what you are doing which makes it difficult to line them up properly. Recent culprits have been bridges and the new wooden midden style platforms as I tried to expand Gorinir Estate.

Then there is the desirable missing furnishings such as armour/weapons, instruments, clutter decorations which can be used to fill a table/cupboard/bookshelf with only one item and crops/vines/plants with separate soil patches so we can make our own little garden plots. The new wedding planter is lovely turned upside down but I struggled to fill it with vegetables as it’s quite large and there aren’t enough. I also noticed that most of my homes with garden space didn’t have anywhere flat enough for it to sit nicely and it ended up in Kelesan’Ruhn but I would have preferred to use my coven cottage.

I have been wanting different or more granular levels of permissions since Day 1 of Homestead. My partner and I eagerly awaited being able to share homes and decorate but alas, Homestead launched and discovered that one of us owns a home and the other can only move existing furnishings. Having to mail or trade furnishings for that person to place and then the "decorator" to move around is annoying.

I know the conventional wisdom is another level of permissions such as "co-owner" or something isn't possible because "What happens if Person A steals everything" "What happens if couple breaks up" etc. To that I say it's no different than Bank Permissions where that same thing can happen. That's what big warning banners are for - don't give permissions to someone you don't trust. Or perhaps tie it to Ring of Mara (useless otherwise at Level cap).

For me sometimes it's just even the long animation and then loading screen for porting to a house. It feels so separate from the world that it makes me not use it as much as it could be. I prefer the ones that are very close to the hubs I use. That being said, I think some one-way portals could be fun. Like if you have portals that lead you to cities of your choice without costing non-wayshrine fast travel gold. It'd feel more like the house is the hub, which sounds like that's how it should be imo. Or if there are portals that connect to your other houses you own maybe? I know they are stubborn about the idea of having wayshrines in homes.

Yes, it would be very useful, especially for the furniture that is given with the house.

And I would like to be able to remove a house to only keep the ground. At the moment, I have to build high up, hiding everything under big platforms. It would be simpler to be able to hide/show the buildings. We have plenty of furniture to build on, but little empty, flat land.

Well glad to see so many have voted! It's kind of a shame some of the options get so little love, but that is proberbly because more slots is something we all want and need. Leaving that option out might have provided a more balanced overfew as to what we want and might get from the devs, since they have already ruled out more slots so many time.

But thank to everyone for voting :)

I don't even necessarily care about the 700 slots, but let me have more than 10 special furnishings! As my house is always the guild hall, I've got a few of these 10 automatically taken up by the NPC assistants for ease of use. If I want a mount, pet, or houseguest then they've gotta fight over the last couple slots. I loved houseguests at first but I had to stop buying them because I can't even use the ones I have. I'd even consider trading some of the 700 slots for them if it's a performance thing, I just want the place to feel alive.

Obviously, adding more slots. I haven't worked on my houses seriously in years, after realizing that there's no way to make them look 'complete' with the limited slots.

However, the weather issue is one of my pet peeves, specifically: sandstorms.

You have no idea how aggravating it is (and apparently ZOS doesn't either) to build a structure in a house like Thieves Oasis, and watch random sand blow through solid walls as if they weren't even there. I mean, how immersion breaking is that? Am I supposed to pretend that it's some sort of magic sand that passes through metal and rock with ease? Not to mention the fact that it also totally obscures your vision when precision placing items, especially at night. I got tired of staring at my computer, waiting for the sandstorms to pass so I could decorate. I abandoned that house, and have never been back. I'd ask for a refund, but ZOS doesn't refund crown house purchases.

They made an item that can set the time. How hard could it be to make a similar item that can set the weather? Or simply add a /sandon /sandoff command.

Most folks are voting for more slots but we all know this is never going to happen.

My vote goes towards portals, giving the player an option to cut out/bypass a portion of these very large homes, into something that will give us a more lived in look & feel. Can you image having Pariah's Pinnacle, porting from the entrance area to an area where you build a custom home overlooking the water falls and canyon? this needs to be a top priority :)

Second choice goes to disassembly of a current home and rebuilding into something different....play it your way ;)

I chose full set of structural furniture of all styles.
Even for the Leyawiin/Blackwood castle style, we are missing so many crucial assets.
The huge tall castle walls seen in the cities in game.
    The towers of Pantherfang Chapel.
The circular stairs inside the towers.

I'd love to have Alinor structural furnishings as well. The doorways. The windows from Psijic house (preferably with NO glass or transparent glass).

I really hate windows that are fake windows we can't see through. It's my biggest pet peeve about ESO structural pieces.
I'd rather have the castle window walls with nothing where the windows are. At least we can look out the windows.

I also hate that all the towers we get as furniture pieces have NO inside!
