Cyrodiil Milegates?

Hello,

What triggers these Milegates to open or close.

I thought taking a keep close to a scroll temple was the idea - then you can group and grab the scroll...but the gate may or may not be open.

Once in a while I will see a flash on the screen that says "...Milegate is open.." or closed.

Help?

    You need to take the keep closest to the gate as well as the tri-keep connecting them. For example For EP you need to take Arrius as well as the keep closest to the gate for it to open.

    the scroll gates are determined by taking the tri-keeps (for example AD side you would have to take faregyl and then either bloodmayne or black boot to open up the respective gates)

    the milegates are the ones around the map between various keeps (such as nikel and ash), or the bridges between alessia and sejanus

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    So having a keep close to the temple is not that big of a deal as long as the gate stays closed....and then likely know where the next attack is going to happen

    in most cases if the top trikeep is starting to get sieged, factions will run to defend it (such as fare for AD, arrius for EP, glade for DC)

    so what happens a lot of times is that in order to really make a push (when the factions are even popped) is simultaneously hitting both (using AD as example) fare and black boot or fare and bloodmayne as it will be harder to defend both keeps

    when a faction is outnumbered, most of the times a zerg will just go straight through the keeps (fare then black boot for example), there is not really a good way to defend this unless you have a large amount of high experience pvp players go to where the scroll is to defend

    In front of each scroll gate (🚪)is a keep (🏠), and ahead and center to those two keeps is a 3rd keep, arranged in a forward facing triangle. These 3 keeps (Or Tri-Keeps) dictate the state of the scroll gates, of which each alliance has 2.

    At least one keep next to the gate and the center keep between them must be owned by another alliance that is not the home alliance for the respective gate to open, with the center keep dictating whether or not the gate will open.

    Both gate keeps may be held by another alliance but the gates will not open until the center keep also falls under control of an enemy alliance, this often leads to turtling of the center keeps to keep the gates closed while effort is made to regain control of the rear two gate keeps.
