Where can a stage 4 Vampire go to upgrade his mount? I keep getting told that I'm scary and they won't deal with monsters?

you can use mesmerise on stablemasters.

or reduce your stage by either
    waiting for it to decrease,
using a Purifying Bloody Mara drink,
or using a Basin of Loss fountain in a house with it.

    Hi LunaFlora

Thanks for that, I should think that you've probably got all the bases covered, with these five lines. I actually expected the reply to be along the lines of...'You should have brought your mounts up to date before you became a Vampire.

I've never heard of either of these...

using a Purifying Bloody Mara drink,
or using a Basin of Loss fountain in a house with it.

So basically you are telling me that there are no Vampire friendly stables?

pretty much, yeah - you eat people, so people don't like you. hey, guards attack necromancers if they go about raising corpses in town, too, so you're not the only one on the watch list ;)

People have said the stablemaster in the Hollow City in Coldharbour and the stablemasters in Cyrodiil are vampire friendly, though i haven't tested it so i don't know for certain.

    Hi haelgaan

Well yes, actually I was aware of this, being as one of my characters is a NecroVamp. So, in that case it was twice as bad. Now though I'm an ArcanistVamp

Yep. Quite accurate. There are a few Merchants scattered about Tamriel that also deal well with Vampires. I've found two so far (not Coldharbour or Cyrodil) and I think the reason is because they are Dark Elves.

And all the Achievement and other special vendors will talk with Vampires as well.

    Hi JanTanhide

Thanks for that confirmation. And yer I have found traders both on the road and in towns that are Vampire friendly. And I'd prefer to hold on to my stage four level if I can, rather than let it drop.

The merchants in Outlaw Refuges will also do business with vampires.

    ETA: The bankers as well.

    Hi Eleminwe

I hadn't thought about them, but then Of course, unfortunately they don't have stables!

You can also use the armory to build an alternate, non-vampire character that you can switch to in order to deal with merchants. Vampirism does not afflict alternates using the armory. Probably quicker and easier than playing around with Bloody Mara or seeking out some obscure merchant

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Stage 4 vamp can port into Cyrodiil and upgrade mount, I do everyday with mine.

Coldharbor is certain but you need to finish the main quest to unlock it.

In some DLC cities such as Rimmen and Necrom, the stablemasters wouldn't mind, though I'm not sure how this started for all my current characters. Other merchants in the same cities do refuse.

Yeah, just use Mesmerize (or its morphs) from the Vampire skill line.

Stand in front of the NPC's field of view, then try to talk to them just to make sure they completely turn to face your direction. Use the skill. They should get a purple/pink aura around them, signaling that they're under the effect, and now you can interact with them.
