2 Questions about Critical chance

Hi all ,

Was wondering. If i have a lot of crit chance … and i have skills where sometimes dmg goes over to other enemies in the 6m area surrounding your first target… is there then also a chance that they get critically striked ? Or is it only on the main target and not on other enemies in the area?

Same with HA of a shock stave. Similar question i guess.

crit is calculated per enemy, so unless its like a proc that specifically says it cannot critically strike, each instance of dmg has its own crit roll to determine if it crit

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

If it is a true AoE, such as Wall of Elements, then each enemy hit gets their own individual chance of a crit. If it is "splash damage", where the initial target's hit is copied as a percentage to other enemies in the area, such as the final hit of a shock staff heavy attack, only the initial target has a chance to crit. Essentially, if the first target crits, they all crit. If the first target does not crit, none of them crit. You'll never have a case where a 10K hit crits for 17K, then the 17K splashes to other enemies and crits again for 28.9K, etc.

Well lets say i cast mages wrath and if the enemy falls below 20% , he (and other enemies nearby) gets an additional 10K dmg.

Lets say there are 4 enemies within radius , and they get the 10k dmg because the person in the middle just got executed. Do i understand correctly that eac one of them can be critted or not depending on their own rng and crit chance ?

Same for HA shock stave which gives splash dmg and 100% dmg done to nearby enemies. Can it be that the initial enemy gets 10K HA dmg (not crit), but some others around get crit dmg worth of 15K dmg?

    Thanks

mages wrath i believe it calculates the crit separate on each target, because the dmg is not scaled on the initial hit

a lightning heavy attack works as described by dagoth_rac, if it crits on your initial target, it applies that crit to everything in affected by trifocus (so crit is only calculated on the initial hit, not all targets individually)
