unsummoning companions

How do I get rid of a companion nowadays? Used to be that summoning an assistant did it, but now they come back after each loading screen. I keep losing rapport when doing black sacraments for the event...

I just have the companion I currently use quickslotted. Activating them again will unsummon them.

Yes its some cases you don't want them like quests there you have to kick someone down to 30% health and use an spell on them and Ember uses execute.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You can unsummon personal assistants by clicking on them and choosing one of the options, but you cannot do that with companions. I would like that option added to them as well.

I go into collections (u key) and get rid that way. Though usually too late. Taken Isabel into outlaw refuges three times already this week by mistake, though mostly when using my house entrance to the refuge. Since she is not summoned in the house I forget about her until that negative rapport pops up.

Had to unsummon her for a Wrothgar delve daily too as she was killing mobs I needed to use an item on to subdue. The irony of that one being that I then had another player and their companion kill the ones I was trying to subdue instead!

i usually use the collection menu to summon/unsummon assistants and companions

i found the quickslot wheel too clunky
    plays PC/NA
    handle @Necrotech_Master
    active player since april 2014

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

T here are several that don't care about the Black Sacrament.

Mirri annoys me though. You can murder somebody in combat, but sh ehates the blade of woe.

If you are on PC there are addons which allow you to set a keybind for summoning and unsummoning companions and other allies with a single click. That has the advantage of speed but also keeps your quickslot bar free for other things. SummonAlly is one such but there may well be others.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's asking the community.

    Thank you for your understanding

As I play on PC, I use the addon Greymind Quick Slot Bar, then I can [un]summon a companion by pressing a function key to select their quickslot then Q to [un]summon them.
    PC(Steam) / EU / play from Melbourne, Australia / avg ping 390
