I would really like to scale some items. Wouldn't it be nice to have that possibility, at least within some limits (e.g. like 50% to 150% either as a slider or some pre-set steps).

    Agreed.

Scaling would allow us to equalize statues for shrines! Even a 10% scale would achieve that.

Would love that. I have so many huge items that I would love to place in some of my houses but they just won't fit. They either linger in storage or get placed in my biggest property which is a huge mess of random different styled items that just won't fit anywhere else.

Not to mention large paintings and tapestries that won't quite fit on the walls I want them too. Take the Emissary Enclave in Necrom. It looks amazing and I love the style but the walls are mostly useless for the larger paintings that I would like to display there. Scaling them down a bit to fit would be perfect.

Scaling will bring a lot of variety to a build. Especially deco items will profit from it.

Some items like stairs might be dificult depending on the actual way they are modeled for walking on them.

Keep in mind that scaling does not mean the item retains its fidelity, at least going from small to large.

You can scale items down, and they will look ok, but you cant really scale items up without making the graphics ugly. Due to the amount of graphics being displayed at any given time, the textures are set to a resolution that fits their size. Scaling up does not scale up the resolution, it only interpolates.

I know that it is not an easy task. Even scaling down would probably require some coding for the polycount of the 3D Model.

As we are at it: Isn't it possible that ingame (not as furnishing item) there are already things that are scaled up and down? I know that the mounts scale with the players size. As does the armor etc.

The poly count is not really an issue. Verticies are vector and infinitely scaleable (the shapes are not an issue), its the textures which are rasterized. You can scale a little bit, like mounts, but going 2x the size or more and things can start to look off/not feel like they are part of the game.

I'd love to have scalable stuff. We could scale things in Landmark (not a lot though) and it really helped when cobbling to make unique things.

Some assets in ESO (the newer stuff) might have some ability to scale without looking bad, but the older assets definitely have a lower resolution. Not so sure about those.

Well I used some skaling in the Creation Kit when modding for Skyrim. Skaling is totally fine if you do it just a little to get some variety for your urns, rocks and plants. It adds a lot. But if you feel like we need better textures, I am all in for those! I'd love to have new graphic options for better models and textures of existing asserts! Especially older ones ;)

Since the 10th anniversary is for a full year, maybe we will get some during that time :)
At least for PC and Next/Current Gen Consoles^^

Yes, things in game are already scaled! You can see "furnishings" we have, scaled in overland. Like the giant foliage in Grahtwood or several different sizes of the same mushroom model in Vvardenfell.

Something like a slider with reasonable limits would solve a lot of problems, including helping with The Slot Issue.

Scaling an already large tree with a higher resolution to a larger tree is not an issue. Scaling a jewelry box to the size of a room would be. There would be relatively severe limits on what could be done.

A long as the community understands this and why, then I see no issues. However many would not understand this and would complain if the item they wanted scaling would not get large enough due to understandable restrictions.

This is in part why I bring this up now.

Keep in mind, many folks do not even understand basic monitor resolution, I would not expect them to understand scaling.
