Maintenance for the week of December 30:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 30

This game has many (frequent) connection issues, also random crashes.

I returned to the game after many years.
I bought the christmas package with Necrom and 2 other DLC.
Now enjoying the ESO+ trial.

Connection issues are frequent. EU server.
Now about 30 minutes ago both the website, EU and NA are unreachable. The website recovered after 5 minutes.
As I write this I'm able to log in again, but I wasn't for at least 20 minutes.

But this is just 1 example of many that happened.
Random crashes, sometimes even without a crash reporter.

I've played for 5 days before the new patch with the ESO+ trial and have not crashed once.
But connection issues were present there too.
Sometimes I'd get kicked because I was away too long, then can't log back in for 5-10 minutes.

I was considering to subscribe for 3 months, but those connection issues and random crashes are making me not do so.

I'd then check the status page, and there are never any known outages.
It's not me, it's not my computer.
A 14900K CPU with 128GB ECC RAM, game is on a NVMe drive. New 4070 RTX.
That computer is rock stable. But not when I run ESO.

Maybe the service being unreachable is so common that it's not worth to mention that it is,
which leaves a very bad impression.

There's room for improvement.

It's been working fine for me also. @Daruq , you mentioned your PC specs, but what about the network specs, and your general location? That has a big impact on ESO connectivity.
    PC(Steam) / EU / play from Melbourne, Australia / avg ping 390

Also time of day - I never have problems, though I play on EU at prime time there. NA I never play in prime time....

Based on what I read above, it seems that players on consoles have troubles but not those on PC?

Am on PC and it's trouble free.

Check your internet connection to be a stable one, often it seems stable but is not! MMO's require a real stable internet connection, unlike most other apps that continue loading after a rebuild connection. Even a microsecond of disconnect can DC you in MMO's. So check all your router, internet, ISP, and other internet settings. Anything that could disrupt, reconnect, reestablish, rebuild, or rechecks the internet connection needs to be turned off or set to the most stable setting.. Also check your firewall and antivirus programs to not flag or check ESO while playing.

PC EU, not using add-ons. Haven't crashed in months, and haven't DC'd in months either. And I'm often online for hours and hours.

    PS: Awesome PC!

Make sure there aren't any background Windows Updates being downloaded/prepped for installation, as it can really tank the PC performance.

    Some other things to check:
-Multiple audio devices at the same time can cause issues.
-Make sure to discard any stray/lost/incomplete packages on your network, otherwise they keep bouncing back&forth. Eventually congesting your network and disconnecting you.
-Make sure your router is working fine, sometimes a broken router goes practically unnoticed. Had this once, and it took me weeks to figure out why my internet kept dropping.
-Check your ISP connection to see how long it has been running. If you disconnect and your ISP connection remains fine, the problem is on your home network somewhere. If it disconnects you from your ISP the same time you drop connection in ESO, you atleast know it is your ISP.

Hope this helps you or anyone else!

No problems with PC EU or NA here, playing from the UK with a wired internet connection, mouse and keyboard. Make sure you're not using wifi.

I was having constant crashing issues a few weeks back, I was convinced it was an add on and tried to isolate which one for ages. After a few weeks of not being able to play and still having issues even when I had removed all add ons it was still happening. i eventually discovered it was our internet and we have fibre optic broadband, luckily we have a back up internet in the house, it is much slower than the main one but when I play on it I don't crash, if I go back to the faster one the crashing starts again. We have no explanation for why it is happening, we have no issues with the braodband for anything else, only ESO. So it might not be the game itself causing your crashing, it could be an add on or it coulld be something on your side causing it.

I've used wifi internet at home since I started playing ESO several years ago, and it works fine. It's fast and reliable.

So it is for many people, but it's very dependent on the other demands on the signal when you're playing, and it's an automatic thing to look for when you're suffering connection issues. This is just one reference point among many:-

"While Wi-Fi is generally more convenient, using a wired Ethernet connection for gaming PCs or consoles offers significant advantages, such as:

    Faster speed
    Lower latency
    More reliability
    Better data security"
