Help on Chat Window weird problem

Hi,

This is a very confusing problem I have with just one of mine characters. My other characters everything is fine. I'll try to explain the problem:

1. I click (PC) "enter" to open the chat window. The cursor is shown up on the chat's slot.

2. When I try to move my mouse over the chat window to start typing, in fact all screen moves around as it normally do when we play ESO (no mouse arrow, just movement). That means, my mouse don't freeze the screen in order to allow me use the chat window.

I already try EVERYTHING: turn my controls back to default, any kind of chat window mods, trying to use the "stop screen" button, but nothing works.

This problem has began when I made the character for the first time and was configuring the controls and stuff. Since then, this particular character's chat window key "Enter" never works.

I probably make some stupid mistake I simply can't figure out. I'm really desperate here. Please, does anyone knows this type of problem? I really appreciate any help.

Apologies if this sounds obvious, but perhaps check your keybinds for that character? Maybe the Enter key is no longer bound (for whatever reason)?

It is bound and as I said I tried to revert the keybinds to default and configured again. It's a very annoying problem, and I can't find one single person that experienced something similar.

Just to clarify, are you able to type/send messages in the chat window when this happens or is it just a matter of the camera still moving with the mouse? If you can send messages, could you try typing /reloadui to see if that affects anything?

I click ENTER, the chat window appears but the screen don't lock and the mouse arrow never show up. When I try to move my mouse to the chat, ALL SCREEN moves as normally do for our character. I can't move my mouse to the chat slot in order to proceed the typing.

But if I press B and the menu appears, the screen got locked and mouse arrow show up. But it's a convoluted way to use the chat.

I make some mistake in the mouse lock/unlock configuration for the chat window... but I don't know how. I already used the lock/unlock keybinding, but it didn't solved the problem. It's a very confusing problem. All my other characters are ok, the chat works normally. Only this one the problem occurs..

So by pressing B in that state are you able to type and send messages? If so, /reloadui may help.

However, if that still does not resolve the issue, I would recommend opening a ticket with our support team here so they can take a close look at it.

Ok I'll try. I tried to make the mouse cursor appear after pressing enter using the open cursor keybind but again it didn't fix the problem... Is there a way to annex a VIDEO of the problem in the support page? I think it will be better to explain the problem.

Yes,, you can attach files under "File Attachment" in the form.

Thanks for the support suggestion but I can't attach a video in the "bug" support form, only a link for it. I don't have any way to send a link address.

I'll just try to deal the problem as best as I can. Perhaps someday I find the motive and fix it.

Have you tried uploading the video to a site like Youtube and then sharing the link when submitting your ticket?

Hi @Scaletho , we got some feedback from the dev team that might assist here.

If you go to Settings > Social the HUD Cursor on Entry toggled on should fix the issue you're experiencing. Let us know if this resolves your issue.

Many thanks for the tip I'll try and see if the problem can be fixed this way. Sorry the delay to answer. I had some work to do and wasn't able to check the forum before.

It worked. Many thanks. After months trying to figure out the mistake I made, the solution was quite in front of me.
