...it may result in the loss of access to the ESO game.

This account remained unused since the day I first added ESO to it, and I feel it's time for a fresh start. Why not create a new one? Well, perhaps not!

can you log into the eso website with the original email address? If so raise a ticket with that one. Also you could try the account recovery option (assuming that wasn't what you used to raise that ticket)

There's definitely something fishy going on with Epic linking. A couple months back, i had my Steam account hacked and hacker linked my ESO account to his Epic account without even having password to my ESO Bethesda account. He didn't even have my Steam password for that matter. And what's even worse is i logged into ESO website and deleted Epic accounts AFTER taking my Steam account and resetting every password i have, and every now and then guy would still link my ESO account to his Epic! It took me -i think- more than a month until i convinced ESO support to disable any and all access to my account from Epic games, and guy literally emptied my craft bag in the meantime. Even deconstructed all my sets just for mats :(

This is why we need optional 2 factor authentication like other games have.

The issue lies with Epic so 2-factor authentication for ESO would be irrelevant.

Also, we do have 2-factor authentication in ESO that works differently than what we are accustomed to. Granted, I would prefer things to be how some other games do it even though it is not the only way.

One thing players can do, and should do with any account they want to keep ahold of, is use strong passwords and not reuse them.
