NPC Dialog in Chat Box

I'm at a complete loss, as this is just a recent problem for me. NPC dialog has started showing up in my chat box, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to disable it.

It seems like it should not show up since I have the box for NPC unticked, but maybe I'm missing something.






Anyone run into this before? I have found no options in any addons in regards to NPCs either. PC-NA.

Disable your addons! And check again.

The system chat channel (bottom left) in the chat settings e.g. is not there by default but get's added by other addons like pChat/rChat.

Disable ALL addons and then enable the ones again you got one after another and check when it starts to show the NPC chit-chat in your chat again,

Maybe you are using pChat/rChat?
Maybe you did enable chat config sync with any oher char that got NPC chat channel enabled?

Disable the chat config sync then as this would copy tabs and their chat channel settings from the other char AND overwrite your settings at the chat settings/tabs of this char where you experience the problem (logged in)!
Only a guess though.

Were you able to remove those NPC chats from the "System" chat box after following @Baertram 's suggestions?

I only use pChat (no other chat add-ons) and I would also like to remove the NPC dialogues from the "System" chat box.
I have looked at all the settings in pChat but I have absolutely not been able to find a solution to achieve this.
If you have succeeded, please @Munkfist share how you did it!!

I have the same issue, and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Really annoying to have to sift through so much text just to find player messages.

ive been using pchat for years and i dont see NPC chat in the chat window

if it is a chat addon, its probably one of the many many settings thats in the addon settings that might not be configurable from the simple chat tab settings menu

I wish there was a way to remove this on console. We didn’t used to have npc dialog in text chat but they added it for some reason.
