Survive mechanics?

Are there tank builds that can just survive one shot mechanics such as the firewall in the cauldron? Normal mode, my pvp build can take heavy hits from the last boss but cannot dodge across the firewall. Charge works if there is a target.

But this is really annoying. I checked combat log and there is nothing. How much damage can those do? Would 40k hp work?

Just do the mechanics. I don’t think it’s intended for you to bypass them since any deaths I get on a tank by a 1-shot, the damage is like 80k+.

DLC one shots are typically meant as a wipe mechanic that surpasses any capable level of health. They are not to be confused with one-shots that exist in base dungeons, like the AOE in Spindle 1 or FG 1 that are meant only for non-tanks. I can't think of any DLC that has a one-shot mechanic a 40K+ health tank could survive.

For the final fight on Cauldron you are intended to move with the flame walls on the final fight and stay between them.

I find it is easier to tank that fight if you stay close to the inside. You don't have to move as fast, and you can use the center structure to break line of site from the boss if you need to take a break from his damage (bigger deal on HM). He gets hung up on the edges, so it slows him down too.

A lot of big attacks are also percentage health based, so no matter what health you have you will die or take a % of your health in damage if you do not follow the mechanic.

    .........

I gave up 4 or 5 times straight after coming back last month on the same boss. Every time we had a fake tank and two dps who are unfamiliar with the map, I can't heal anyone killed by one shot or resurrect them since I can't take the unblocked hit even with 30k HP and 20k resist. Sometimes it doesn't even look like heavy attack - I was several meters away but still died, parsing shows 20k plus a number of other attacks that must have been fired together.

Attempting to be tank myself didn't work out as stamina was running out fast while blocking. Was the boss stronger than years ago? I just checked I collected nearly all 3 sets including weapons and jewelries.

If it's health based, I'd just quit whenever I get the same dungeon again. :p

I have heard pug tanks are not good. Boss does a large cone attack and anyone inside the cone gets a lightning aoe, anyone inside someone elses lightning aoe takes damage when the person with the aoe takes damage. Not sure of any one-shots though other than the lasers.

If you’re running out of stamina, there’s something wrong with your build. Check your cp, passives, and armor traits (sturdy if you block a lot). What class do you tank with?

On normal, you can solo the dungeon, honestly. You just have to know the mechanics and dodge roll the heavy.

It's not a tank build but pvp healer build in armoury that could take some punch, with high regen, all medium well fitted, but didn't use dodge as I wasn't certain which attacks are heavy. Cp focus on healing
