How do you get this? Is Breda supposed to give a bottomless mead quest which she hasn't?

Ever since this year (I think), they've made the XP bonuses passive for some reason.

I preferred the old system where your seldomly used necromancer alts would still have their witches festival bonus in late summer.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's about an event.

    Thank you for your understanding

It wasn't the initial use that was ever a problem for me-- it was remembering to keep checking my active effects list every so often to see if it had worn off.

Nothing appears in 'Active Effects', so how can we tell if it's active?

Altmer have their crystal towers, and that's how they want to be — cold and perfect. And Dunmer are just like their Red Mountain — smouldering and dark. We just want to have a drink and not worry about it."

No, I think it is because players were always activating 2h bonus XP right at the very end of the event on all their characters & had extra XP bonus even after event ended (timer is paused when you logoff). So it was easy to power level & get a lot of CP quite fast and ZOS apparently did not liked that (at least this is why I think they changed it).

The mug is a memento, and you cannot use those on Cyrodiil, Imperial City or Battlegrounds.
This is the most likely reason for the change to a passive bonus.

Look at the dungeon finder, daily is 100kish, if its 200kish then you know you're buffed.

    Much obliged, @YORKSHIRE76!

No worries. I was same for this years Haloween festival, I was confused too and posted about it, Zos replied and said it was all good and we are now auto buffed each event. 👍

I did this at the end of each event. I logged onto one of my lesser known characters just two days ago and they were still a skeleton. Can't say I ever power levelled though.

A universal timer saves the servers from individually tracking the timers of however many characters across 20+ million accounts had used the buffs. If they had just wanted people to stop getting double xp after the events, they could have wiped the bonus during a post-event maintenance. The past few years have seen very similar changes designed to streamline the data the server needs to track, such as no longer individually tracking mount training timers and random dungeon timers.

Yes, a classic example of that is the very unpopular account-wide settings, for which many players have never forgiven ZOS.
