the q4 event schedule says Late December, next Thursday would definitely be mid December.

ZOS says late December, and it will start on a Thursday? Either December 21 or December 28.

this event is already longer than most other events, usually lasting about 3 weeks, while most last only about 2 (typical event is 12 days)

21st to 9th would be 19 days, or 1 solid week more than the standard event

a lot of people in here already have extreme event fatigue as it is, so i dont think a longer event is necessarily better, i personally wont bother doing anything event related except the daily tickets

The longer length allows people more flexibility to get in and play it around various holiday IRL things. Losing a week will hurt some people, I suspect. Not everyone can tell Grandma that they can't visit because ESO New Life is shorter this year.

roughly 3 weeks im pretty sure is standard for this event

3 tickets per day x 19 days is 57 tickets, and this event has historically given about that many tickets

most events are only 2 tickets per day for 12 days, or about 24-26 tickets

so as far as i can tell its not shorter than usual, if it goes from the 21st to jan 9th

No one has told us that it goes to January 9. If they actually do wait until "late December", as advertised, my guess is that it will be a week shorter to address "event fatigue".

they havent told us a start date either, but the event doesnt have to end jan 2 after new years either

so saying it will be a week shorter when we have no start or end date is just hypothetical at this point and assuming things

historically this event has always given about 60 tickets as it is their way of allowing people to "make up" tickets through the year, and if its "late december" the 21st seems to be the most logical start date, therefore the most logical end date is jan 9th (3 tickets per day for 19 days would give 57 tickets)

i dont know the start or end dates either, but that seems to make the most logical sense more rational than just assuming they are cutting out a week of the event

Well, let's hope so. One guess is as good as another, but I do recall that by the time the Anniversary event came around last year, people were complaining about event fatigue. It seems to me that ZOS said that they heard the complaints and were looking into it. Shortening a three week event to two weeks for that purpose does make sense.

it would go against their intent with the new life festival to reduce the ticket gain since they have also historically never given more than 3 tickets per day

i think that was the intent with the anniversary event

the problem with the anniversary event is it is usually riding alongside the jester event with no breaks between those events

in most of those cases the jester event and anniversary event were effectively combined into a nearly month long event (1 week for jesters and 3 weeks for anniversary)

thats where the event fatigue comes from

Last years was Dec 15th to Jan 3rd. The analogous dates for this year would be the 14th to the 2nd, but I am guessing they shift that back a week because they dont want to end as early as the 2nd. I don't think its at all likely that they start after Christmas.
