What zone was your worst fishing zone?

I started the road to fishing about two months ago. Managed to get my Master Angler Achievement and then decided to finish off all the individual zone achievements starting with the bottom on Imperial City and work my way up to the newest content. I completed Morrow-wind and now have been working on Summerset. I've got to say without a doubt Summerset is the most aggravating zone so far. The foul fishing spots are rare and I thought they would be the hardest but somehow I managed to get all the green and blue fish on my first fishing hole. I then scored the salt water and river rather quickly. THEN came the lake part. I started that yesterday. I'm working on getting the wandering world boss achievement in the Deadlands during the event as during non-event times it's almost impossible to find anyone else in the zone to help. So I'd port to the deadlands get a WWB and then port back to Summerset and hit all the lake spots. About a 10 to 15 minute routine. In I'd say six hours I found around five, and I do mean FIVE active fishing spots. And according to several fishing maps there are six total holes in the zone. One is rather large and I never saw one active spot there.

Let's say I visited all six spots in the zone, three times an hour that's 18 spots per hour. Take that times six hours then I visited 108 possible lake fishing holes and managed to find FIVE active spots?

My vote is Summerset. It actually is my favourite zone due to how beautiful it is, but the fishing is lousy! I still need to catch the blue one sigh.

List yours!

Going after foul water in Hew's Bane was definitely the worst for me. Sometimes there isn't a single spot available.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Yeah that one sucked as well. Up until now that one was actually my worst one actually. Summerset takes the cake however.

Way, way back before any kind of buffs were even thought of let alone available and on my first ever Master Angler I had a total nightmare in Alik'r with the foul water spots......

We are not talking hours or even days, it was nearly TWO weeks, I think I finished around four complete zones before I got that final fish in Alik'r!!

I'm still disappointed they made the Master Angler achievment account wide so you cant track it anymore. I only got it on 6 out of 14 chars :(

You know, I actually don't remember! I remember having a frustrating time in certain zones, but apparently not enough for specific ones to stick out at this point (I have completed all fishing achievements in the game).

The only one that really sticks in my memory is Imperial City, and that's not because it was particularly frustrating -- I only spent a few hours of one night there -- but because I was very pleasantly surprised by the behaviour of opposite alliance players. A few joined me fishing, a few obviously saw me but left me to it, and some even came over and started emoting next to me in a group -- that one, I surely expected to be murdered at the end of, but nah, they had their fun and ran off.

Lol My IC experience was the same, almost. Had several people of the opposite alliance join in or others do emotes. I had a few try and take a swipe at me but I was on my PVP NB so they got fish in the face and took a dirt nap ha.

    I just started fishing.

    Stonefalls and Deshaan were fine.

Shadowfen is absolutely terrible. The zone has so much water, but so few fishing spots.

Update: After my last post I got the last fish on my first try upon logging in. Since then I've completed all fishing related achievements and never want to see a worm again.

I did notice a pattern however. If I kept fishing in the same zone I caught less and less of the fish I was after over time. If I went and did something else for about 30 minutes or logged out and came back later I almost always within one or two holes caught the last fish or two. It was very steady.

I was chalking it up to just being due to there being less and less of the fish I needed therefore I caught fewer of them and more of the ones I already had. That didn't account for me catching the last few within minutes upon trying again after stopping for a while. Has anyone else noted this? Once I noticed the pattern I just quit for a while and 100% of the time I caught the last few quickly.

    Two things: Craglorn sucked today.

And fishing in Craglorn should have the possibility of Potent Nirncrux if it doesn't already.

Shadowfen was my personal „ugh“ fishing area. Took me weeks to get the last fish.
Cyro, on the other hand, was a blast due to the legendary fishing hole truce of 23 xD.

Didn't know there was a truce. I got lucky today in Cyrodiil, took maybe half an hour. Didn't die in Cyro, and only died in Imperial City when I tried to fight other people trying to take the district. I learned my lesson.

Anyways, I finally got Master Angler and all the DLC zones done too. I feel there should be a Grand Master Fisher achievement.

Surprisingly IC was the easiest for me as far as timing. I was expecting to get ganked frequently but that turned out not to be the case. I put my master angler title on and my toon was red. A group of yellows saw me fishing and decided to help me go thru all the fishing spots while not killing me, I even clipped it.

The zone that took the longest for me was Craglorn, the rare blue fish for lakes wouldn't come up for me.

For me it was Alik'r Desert - fairly limited lake and foul fishing spots combined with some really horrible luck.

WAS? I'm still having issues! Awful randomness in most of the DLCs. The main zones, not so much, but right now I'm in Summerset and I can't get the last River, the last Salt and I haven't found any foul holes. And the Deadlands, I only need one foul fish, and every once in awhile I'll go back and spend a few on it, and nada.

Ellmarie, I found this map helpful. It was a tough zone! fishing-summerset.jpg

Oh Ty you @Veinblood1965, I didn't see this. I was following a map, however, just not catching those fishes!
