Hitting "play" on ESO Launcher won't start the game.

I keep hitting "play" on the ESO launcher, but it won't start the game. I didn't have this issue yesterday or the day before when Update 40 was introduced. I tried restarting my computer thinking that it was my computer not responding but after restarting, the problem still persists.

    like i suggested in there, are you able to launch the game directly using the executable instead of the launcher?

    you would have to file browse to where the game is installed, i think the executable is like eso64.exe but im not at home to check the exact details

    Yea, somebody gave me the ESO guide to finding it (https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/22187). The file ESO64 or ESO64.exe is not the folder.

    yeah that article should be right, just make sure you are going to the right folder, as there are 2 elder scrolls folders

    one is the one that gets put in mydocuments which contains local storage stuff like user settings, addons, etc

    the other one is where the actual game is installed

    another method you could try would be using like the windows search to search for that file if your having trouble navigating to it

    yeah that article should be right, just make sure you are going to the right folder, as there are 2 elder scrolls folders

    The file doesn't exist in any of the folders.

    Running a repair from the launcher fixed it for me too (I didn't even realize this was possible until a friend pointed it out).

    Ugh! It happened again! This is the second time in two weeks I've had this issue! The first time I had to uninstall and then wait 3-4 hours to reinstall the game. I can't keep doing this and waiting hours to reinstall a game that continues to malfunction. I filed a ticket again.

    I had a similar issue a few weeks ago. My problem ended up being related to OneDrive. I had turned it off as I'm just not a fan of it, but ESO was trying to access my settings that were located there. As soon as I turned on OneDrive, it started instantly. Once fully synced, I turned it off again and was fine.
