Guide to Leveling Up Your Character - At the Crown Store

I'm on my 3rd "Crown Store Leveled" lvl 50. What is really worth buying and how much time can you save?

Cost of Crowns (if not on sale) $149 gets you 21,000. Sounds like a good deal, doesn't it? Cost is .007 cents US.

Riding Lessons - NOTE: to max out riding without the crown store will take you 180 days. Yes. That's right, 6 months. Or $126 US and you are riding long distances at full speed and you can carry lots of extra stuff! You could reduce this amount by getting a daily upgrade, but I'm usually level 50 in 2 or 3 weeks (tops) and ready to play a new class. So I might get 20-30 levels, saving a few dollars. Riding speed and stam is especially important if you plan on manually getting sky shards, magic books, psijic.
Speed. If you PVP, speed isn't really an option. Full speed upgrade will cost 6000 crowns. $42
Stamina. Full upgrade 6000 crowns $42
Capacity. Full upgrade 6000 crowns $42

Sky shards (if you have these on another toon) You have to at least get an area's complete sky shards one time. After that?
26,050 Crowns for Sky shards available in crown store. 512 sky shards/3 equals 170 skill points, you can acquire with the click of your mouse (and around $185 US if crowns are not on sale)

Now, about Skill Lines. These 5 are worth consideration, as you can insta-level these 5 important skill lines for just a little over $100 US.

Alliance War Line 3000 Crowns - $21 US
Really think about this one if you don't particularly like PVP. But some skills like War Horn and Vigor have uses beyond PVP and you need them I don't mind this one, but since I'm going to Cyro on a lvl 50 toon, I need some of these tools available immediately. Not like we are all leveling naturally in the under 50 campaign. Would take a while since there are never more than like 20 players there now days.

Undaunted 3000 Crown $21 US.
The two passives in this line make this a must have for many players. Got to get that 3rd passive, which is Level 9.
I've gotten this on 3 characters the old fashioned way. And I NEVER plan on getting it again. Crown store here I come!

Fighter's Guild 3000 Crowns $21
Of course there is that little place in Quarantine Serk. Or you can round up on Sentinel docks. Or just click your mouse and pay a mere $21 US and POOF! you're there.

Mages Guild 3000 Crowns $21 US
Of course there is the add on which helps. But if riding around picking up all those little books is ... mundane? Whip out a $20 bill and you're done. I won't EVER ride around collecting these again. Of course, you could grab some sky shards while you are doing it.

Psijic Order Skill Line 3000 Crowns $21
Some players say this is the worst to get. I am not particularly fond of riding around the same places. Race against time is very popular in PVP. Which will also give you an extra blocking shield. I've seen a lot using Meditate around in different places.

Vamp and werewolf you can get from players (usually free). No real advantages to get Antiquities on multiple characters, unless you just really like the skill. You can escavate all leads and wear any mythics on any character you have, so there is really no special need to get it on more than one. Now, there are a lot of options for ulti's so unless you want to use soul assault, Soul Magic skill line is one you might can do without. Legerdemain, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are specialized skill lines. Do you really want to do these on more than one character? If so, you probably won't mind leveling the old fashioned way. NOTE: Shadow Rider in Dark Brotherhood skill line does reduce aggression radius by 50% while mounted. Legerdemain passive "Improved Hiding" reduces the cost of sneak 40%. Are these passives worth $2000 crowns? ($14 US)? I may add these if I find I'm playing a character a lot.

So what do I consider mandatory?
All riding $126
All sky shards $185
Alliance War Line $21
Undaunted $21
Mages Guild $21
Psijic Order $21
(I did buy Fighter's guild on 2 toons but not my new crown store leveled toons)

So, $395 US. And that is Crowns at full retail price. I haven't calculated how many hours this saves, but I simply wouldn't level another class without using these upgrades. I have 1 main templar, maxed leveled the old fashioned way. And now a necro, arcanist and soon a new warden, all 3 using leveling advantages from the crown store.

Not considered would be 1500 crowns for a new character slot. I have purchased one. (about $14 US).

I consider it money well spent.

Cheers,
Darv

(Think I got the numbers about right. Rounded up/down a bit for even amounts. AND I always buy crowns on sale. I use crown gifting for my primary source of in game gifting, as I consider trading boring. Riding around is boring. I try to only do fun things in any game I play. I have enough work IRL. I totally try to avoid anything that is "work" in a game)
