[bug] when StartChatInput is used when you are tabbed out of the game.

I'm creating an addon that uses StartChatInput to send text to be sent to chat.
I recently noticed when text is sent to the chat via StartChatInput while the game is not in focus, the chat input field becomes locked.
It appears as if it has focus and even pressing escape to hide the chat does not make it change from looking like the entry field has focus.
The only interaction possible is double clicking on groups of text within the entry field but, it only highlights the selected text. The selected text cannot even be deleted.
I can press "/" to begin chat command input but, nothing but a single "/" will appear in the entry field.
it can be fixed without reloading by selecting a different channel from the channels tab or clicking on a name in chat to start a whisper.
