Let us choose alliance when entering Cyro/IC

I'm in guild where there is a constant input of new players who would like to try PvP but everyone is in a different alliance and this cause a lot of problems for them that barely have a char levelled.
Organizing guild runs to introduce new players to PvP is almost impossible and this part of the game is just dying.

In this age of ESO I think it would be bettere to remove the restriction from the char, old players like me have at least a pg for every alliance to choose from, it is time to make things easier for new people and to try to infuse new life in PvP.

Absolutely not. You’d get dozens of people would wouldn’t even look at PvP until they saw which faction was winning, and then sign up with that faction. Bad enough that BR campaign lets you freely swap between factions.

I'm not sure the alternative is that much better judging by gray host

Ok, I'll change my request, do it only for the no alliance locked campaign.
The campaign (at least PC EU) is always almost empty with people that already swap faction all the time.

ESO PvP really need new players and as it is today it will never get them, on the contrary PvP playerbase is steadily decreasing.

I'm not sure it'll help regardless. The population imbalances aren't out of whack because there is or isn't alliance lock... It's out of whack because when faced with the choice most people want to be on the winning side.

Letting people choose what alliance they join on... -shrug- my honest prediction is things will stay largely the same. But it might also just get worse.

Having a campaign where you (or your immediate group if you queue with one) is randomly assigned to a faction to help keep an even pop is also a neat idea, one I'd love to try out!

Allow people to choose which alliance they join when joining a campaign, but DON'T allow them to join the most populous alliance.

Plenty of team based games have a system like this - join a game, have the option to pick your team, but if 1 team is already much larger than the other(s) you cannot join it.

this makes the most sense to me

if they allow you the option to pick a faction when entering cyro, it cant be the most populous faction

one thing that might make sense here is something a similar 3-faction pvp game does (planetside 2), is that if 1 faction is that much imbalanced population wise with the other ones, it will institute a faction balance queue for the most populous faction, while the other 2 factions have no queues

They could do that but they won't because then they won't be able to sell those juicy tokens in the crown store. Profits > game experience my friends.

My current PvP wish is for them to make the Shivering Isles a PvP zone, and then you get assigned to Mania or Dementia.

True. While I have no issue with having multiple characters from different alliances in the same campaign, such a change as is being suggested means entire guilds and groups will merely choose which alliance suits them best when they enter Cyrodiil.

Not to worry, it is extremely unlikely Zenimax would consider the idea.
