[PC NA] Low pop bonus not working for Gray Host

EP is nearly pop locked at 3am every night. The low pop bonus doesn't seem to do anything and is completely missing for DC.

There are a few new sandbox-style mmos coming out like Archage 2 and Throne and Liberty in 2024. If ESO does not clean this up, I and many others will probably drop the game.

First Archeage was ridiculously monetized and pay to win. Maybe they change, but I wouldn't count on. It.

Throne and Libertt combat looked awful. Supposedly they have been working on it but handed to Amazon as a publisher; they also have begun seeking questionable ways for profit

Hopefully, Archage 2 will be better but it will be a wonderful MMO if its sandbox PvP.

Throne Rework I have hope for as a sort of purgatory for MMO players before the next drop.

As of right now, ESO is that purgatory

And it is the purgatory we've got. Would be just as easy for ESO to maybe at least address Minor concerns as old as time, if not add content

I thought you might feel better to know that it does not always show for AD either. It's not the first time I've seen this. I suspect it is just based on consistency over a specific amount of time. I honestly do not know, but trust me, DC is not the only faction to not see it from time to time. I have seen it where DC does get it and AD does not. :)

Low pop is a joke. I play EP and if AD and DC players can't be bothered to log in to fight a certain guild and dodge them in this time slot play another game. I see you playing in Blackreach or be in IC. Grey Host is the no1 Campaign for pvp. Don't show up you get nothing. Crutching on low pop when you dodging in Oceanic primetime because you lost 1 now probably 2 campaigns straight isn't a game issue just ppl with a sore loser mentality.

Over time people realise when their faction is strong in a campaign and play cyrodiil pvp at those times. This is natural, no one wants to play when outnumbered.

Then you have the poor guys and gals who log into a one colour map and log off immediately - boring.

Then eventually the team that took the map and all the scrolls go to bed only to leave their faction to defend against two factions - less boring but still tedious.

    Play when faction weak
    Play when faction strong
    Play when faction dominant
    Play when faction is defending

You get to choose when you play. Maybe think about how you affect others?

Low pop bonus hasn't worked properly since they reduced faction pop caps so low. That's the problem. The pop caps are too low.

Did you just say if NA players on the NA server can't be bothered to log in at 3 AM to fight Oceanic players they should play another game? Did you really say that?? You do realize that Oceanic players are PvDooring right? It's NA server. North American. And you're expecting people to log on at 3 AM lol.

It's the Oceanic players causing the loss for AD and DC (note I'm saying a loss for AD and DC, not a win for EP because that's important). During NA's prime time the fights are pretty even between the alliances. A lot of action and a lot of back and forth. It's the Oceanic players constantly screwing up the score. They're not "winning', they're PvDooring during the North American server's sleeping hours.

And you come here telling them to play another game because they're not willing to log in at 3 AM lol when it's their server in their time zone.

and how many servers are there? there are 2, one for NA, and one for EU, australian/japanese primetime is during the off-peak hours of both servers, and those servers are entirely separated

for the purposes of this game, we are all effectively playing on the same server, but that doesnt mean the server is going to be "peaked" all around the clock, especially if a majority of the players are american (say 1/2 of them) while the other half are spread out around the other dozens of time zones in the world

Yet somehow for at least a year now AD has consistently moved up in the faction ranking based upon low population bonus alone. The low pop bonus algorithm simply doesn't work properly with such low population caps and ZOS refuses to revisit how the low pop calculation is done.

Lol it is purely because DC maintains 2-3 bars of pop for far longer than AD. AD almost always falls back to 1-2 bar after NA primetime and Asia/Pacific presence is nigh 0 in AD. Most of the times, AD gets gated first because the least amount of resistance. DC is gated last because with 2 bars pop, they can fight off EP at Aleswell and Glademist for a while, making EP turn their sight on the least populated faction for gating.

Doesn't change the fact that it's nightcapping. Most North American time zone players play on NA server, most European time zone players play on EU server. That's how it should be. They spread more or less evenly between the three alliances during prime time.

Oceanic players can choose between the two servers and no matter the choice they will be PvDooring. But they can also choose between the three alliances and instead of spreading out they all cram the same alliance. There are either not enough of them to spread evenly between the three and still have enough teammates to play with or it's one or two guilds and they stick together to take advantage of that overnight PvDooring for score. They cap the map like every night. You can't tell me they're not taking advantage of the lack of opposition.

And I haven't yet seen a low pop bonus that could help against that unfair score.

Like I said in another thread, there is a MMORPG I play once in a while that takes time zones into consideration. The NA and EU servers disallow capturing objectives during their overnight hours. It's literally to prevent this unfair advantage. Does it suck for Oceanic players and people that work odd hours? Well yeah. But while it's unfair for the minority of players it's fair for the majority of them and so the devs implemented it. Don't have to worry about the server going to bed for the night and waking up to everything captured, day after day.

It's too extreme a solution for ESO, but halving the points earned toward score while having a population advantage wouldn't be, and that's what overnight PvDoor is: a population advantage. EP has three bars while AD and DC have one at 3 AM server time? And that's considered fair and worthy of scoring the normal points?

Since low pop bonus is obviously not working correctly or helping with the situation something else should be done.

Not sure what faction I am playing has to do with this discussion. Does it somehow magically turn pop bars around?
