Will Necrom go on sale today with the start of the event?

I don't think so.

Historically they have a 50%-off sale during the community event, but there is no sign of one yet and the event has started. Perhaps they decided to forgo it because they did not release paying content for Q3, even though Q3 is usually a DLC which you get anyway with ESO+.
Or they think the rewards for participating are so awesome that everyone will be happy to pay full price?
Historically they have a 67%-off for Black Friday and Christmas as well.

I obviously do not own Necrom so I am not aware of how long it could take to complete the quests, but is it very time consuming to get the event tickets?

Well, a visit to the Epic Store reveals that they think there is a sale on, because they are offering 50% off until the event ends on the 10th October. Do we go there and buy a key until they realise there isn't? Or do we wait for someone at ZOS to press the big red sale key?

xbox store now also lists 50% discounted version. The cheapest is the deluxe upgrade for 27.xx Euro. The normal upgrade is not reduced.
Not certain yet if I buy it, as I planned not to invest more than 20 Euro on each of both accounts after all the nerfs. I meanwhile play F76 more often, and prefer to buy atoms. No gambling crates, no permanent nerfs.

Update: just bought it, as I have next week free from work, and with the house the 7.45 more than 20 Euro are ok.
Just did the 4 worldbosses on all my logins for the event-tickets, but I'm far from thrilled.
Telvanni island looks like a region of Vvardenfell, even the music is same stlye. Somewhat boring.
Apocrypha the same dull monochrome setup as fargrave, just a different colour. The fact that almost half a year after release they did not fix the bug that plays Fargrave music instead of Apocrypha music is really destroying the ambience further, and shows me, how low they prioritize this product meanwhile.
The first impression so bad, that I switched to my other game after getting the tickets, instead of exploring the new region.

So it's just ESO's own store that's missing a sale. That looks like a mistake rather than an intentional decision and if so I hope it's one they fix soon.

In previous years if I haven't already got the chapter by the time the community event comes up that's when I buy it (not usually for the bonus items, just because it's cheaper and often a convenient time) and I was planning to do the same since I haven't got Necrom yet.

When I saw it wasn't on sale on the ESO website I thought I'd just keep waiting, but now it looks like that might be an oversight.

Which means I'm off to buy Necrom and start on the event!

i think the sales were planned, but based on what zos_kevin stated in another thread, they are not allowed to release specific times when sales go active (apparently there are a lot of rules in place about that, and obligations with their business partners)

I believe if you have 3 other group members and all of you have the same Bastion Nymic quest, you will only have to kill 1 herald's seeker. When I do it with just one other person we both get the ichor and so only have to kill two of them. All of you have to loot the herald's seeker of course.

this, also the seekers were significantly nerfed in one of the prior updates (they have like half of the hp they used to at necrom launch)

For event tickets either of the "normal" dailies count; collect stuff from a delve, kill a world boss. First handed in gets 2x tickets and a golden box. After that a purple box.
With the event on the "kill a world boss" option is very fast, once you have mapped out their locations.

the "daily" that players have been complaining about (which doesnt even give tickets) is the one for the community event which requires randomly dropped items from killing enemies or harvesting

it sounds like harvesting has a far better drop rate than killing enemies right now for that one

harvesting and chests are definitely the way to go, i farmed materials for about an hour and half last night and got 30 parchments
