Dialogue for Returning NPC's & Stories in General

.. it's gotten worse, to the point of non-existent. I have a lot of things to say about writing and how I feel it's not going into the right direction, but this is something that truly made me feel like I'm not part of the world and the people in it. Lastly, this is a game for (supposedly) mature audiences, and the stories we keep being served are meant for much younger ones, at least that's how I feel, almost like all the sauce & themes that made Elder Scrolls lore so popular are gone. Stop protecting your players, we're not kids. To be fair, almost every company trimmed down controversial topics etc. over the years, so it's not just Zenimax. Anyway, thought I'd throw a bit of criticism in there along with my initial complaint. @ZOS_GinaBruno Please, don't let my character be forgotten.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it deals with the lore in the game.

    Thank you for your understanding

I don't mind the stories themselves (even though there are definitely bad ones, looking at you Blackwood) but I definitely hate the fact there's never at least a single dialogue option that allows the player to acknowledge the continuity.

I understand they think that most players don't take the lore too seriously, but it's actually extremely immersion breaking when our characters are forced into lines such as "who are you again?" when you've met them several times before. In the Necrom prologue quest I literally had no option to say that I met HM before in Reaper's March, Greenshade or Craglorn. It totally destroys any roleplay aspect when it happens too.

It almost sounds comical when I hear that players might not be interested in the lore, but then again, I'm not really surprised either, lore has been sterilized heavily since Morrowind, everyone's playing it safe (sign of the times) there are very few truly mature concepts left that Zeni/Bethesda are willing to explore. @ZOS_Kevin Please consider this feedback from those that still care for the lore.

p.s. any ZOS writers or the Loremaster that we can tag? @zos_michaelzenke doesn't exist anymore, or never did.
