Login Issue PC NA

I can't log in to PC NA. I get random error messages. After more than 10 times I managed to log in but got kicked after a few seconds. PC EU works without any problems.

What's going on here again and why does it only affect my account???

    Just for info, I was able to log in and play normally on PC NA this morning.

    Yeah, I've logged into my accounts one after another for rididng training on PC NA (and EU) without issue, and now logged back into the first one to do dailies.

    In fact, today is the fastest logins from character screen I've seen in a week.

    Good for you... I still have problems. I managed to log in for 2 times but got kicked after a few seconds. Ping was above 1700. No problems on PC EU. So it's not my connection. There must be a reason for it. Why can't I play on NA any longer??

    You need to speak with your ISP, it sounds like you're experiencing a problem somewhere along the network between you and the NA server that you don't experience with the EU server because it's in a different location and you're therefore being routed differently.

    I haven't changed my internet provider in years and haven't had a problem logging on and playing on PC NA in all those years. Well, there was always higher ping, but that is absolutely normal. As long as the ping is stable. I have been playing on the NA server for almost five years. I have never had such problems. :(

    I have tried everything possible: logging in without addons. Disable anti-virus program. I have also tried it with my laptop. Always the same problems. After 2 or 3 tries I can log in, but the ping is incredibly high and after a few seconds I get kicked off the server.

    for what its worth, had the same issue yesterday. lost connection few times, but could log in after few mins again

    Maybe not everything. If you have not opened a support ticket I would do so.
    Also, you mention trying your laptop with the same results, I assume then your first\regular ESO device is a desktop?
    That first PC wired or wireless?
    Laptop wired or wireless?
    Try both connections on both devices if you haven't.

    Also do you have an alt account you can try? Does it also have issues?

    If both devices exhibit the same issues, get back on your regular ESO device and run a repair on the ESO install using the option thru the ESO launcher util.

    Test again, if still an issue follow the steps here: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/30903

    This will help you narrow down where the issue is.
    I would trust the ping rate through a CMD prompt way more than the "ping" that can be displayed in-game.

    Tracert will help you narrow-down the point along the route from you to the server that may be giving you issues.

    Try other Net-based activities, load websites, stream video and music, how do they perform?

    But:
    - If you have the same issue on multiple devices
    - Both wired and wireless
    - All are riding the same Internet connection to the outside.
    - Others here are connecting to PC\NA fine (myself included)
    Then your point of failure is likely somewhere between your devices and the server, your ISP or one of the hops along the route to the server.
    But the server itself is likely not the cause.

    I would try the stuff help desk folks recommend, like reboot computer, check for computer updates, reboot or power cycle internet gear like router. If none of that helps, I would open a ticket and post it here.

    One tiny chance it might be location dependent. If nothing else works, maybe try logging in through a VPN. Proton VPN used to have a free one that worked, I have not used it in a while. If logging in works through a VPN, definitely include that in your ticket.

    Thank you, I will try that. And I have already sent a ticket. Again, I don't think that the issue is with my devices as playing on PC EU works perfectly fine. Any other internet activities like streaming etc. works just fine. It seems the only thing my internet connection doesn’t like is the Elder Scrolls Online PC NA server. :| I didn’t change anything in my computer settings or router settings. Everything worked until a couple of days ago. This doesn’t make any sense for me. :(

    Hi! I am facing the same problem. Mac NA and PC NA. It was fine from Sep. 11th and before. I am playing from Brazil. I've tried the suggested troubleshooting but it didn't work.

    Update: I have tried to use a VPN. And indeed it works with it. @Ingenon, thanks for the tip! Since it is the free version of Proton, I use a server in North America. I was able to log in, do a dungeon and my daily endeavors without any problems. Well, there were ping spikes from 200 to over 450, but at least it was playable. No comparison to the day before yesterday. So, I don't understand this now. Why can I play on NA without any problems if the internet thinks I'm from North America? Or is it for some other reason? I'm not an IT tech and don't know anything about it. But it is strange, the whole thing.

    The VPN worked? I'm not an IT help desk specialist, but I have worked with them previously. I only know of two unlikely issues that might cause using a VPN to fix a login issue.
    1. Your ISP is having an issue with their domain name server (DNS). You can ask your ISP for help, or usually it is quicker to fix it yourself by configuring your computer to use a reliable DNS (like Google). ZOS has instructions for this: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/59270
    2. ZOS is using a provider of denial of service protection, and their provider incorrectly has an issue with your location. Sometimes companies use a provider like Akamai for DoS protection. Sometimes a specific ISP/Internet Location will get blocked by Akamai (or whoever ZOS is using). Using a VPN "fixes" this because you look like you are somewhere else. Only ZOS can get this fixed.

    Thank you very much, I will try that. I still don't understand why it's suddenly a problem to connect to PC NA. PC EU works without any problems. The game runs great except for the usual occasional lags. But with an event going, I'd expect that. The strange thing is also that it didn't start abruptly. Until 3 days ago I could still play on NA. But the lags and ping spikes got worse day by day. Now I can only log in after 3,4 attempts, but I lose the connection again after a short time. It seems more like my connection is throttled. I didn't change any settings. Still using the same router and ISP. Nothing has changed. Also, there is someone else besides me who has written here that they have the same issue. I am playing from Hungary. I don't know if that matters or not. Everything was working fine until recently.

    I would still get with the ISP if it were me. ISPs do change routing (sometimes for what seems no good reason), and that's what it sounds like here: your routing specifically to PC NA megaserver changed suddenly, and a VPN can bypass that too. Since your routing to PC EU works fine, that should give the ISP a place to start checking from.

    I did a test.
    I logged with my ISP and my ping, again, was between 300 to 999+.
    I then logged with my celphone using hotspot (with 4G) and I was able to play normaly.

    Funny thing is that during the day with my ISP I'm able to play normaly. And during the night it goes crazy.

    @Ardriel Same has been happening to me. High latency has become more often here too, I used to had 100ms on EU and 200ms on NA. Now on EU I get 400-500ms and 300-600 on NA. On dungeons it can spike to 8000-12000ms - resulting in either a boot from server or the group kicking me out.
    Can't figure out what's happening, tracing shows latency sky rockets in Akamai servers.

    check and make sure your launcher is not downloading PTS atm. This can be the root cause of some connection issues. It also happens to me when one of my other games starts to update or windows itself starts a download. I'm on crappy DSL connection so it happens every time.
