Reduce Loading Screen Time

Hey,
I'm trying to reduce my loading screen time. I noticed that addons play a big role role in it but I want to reduce them even with no addons enabled. Does anyone know some tricks how to do that? Doesn't matter if it's changing hardware or anything else. The loading screen just needs to be shorter.

SSD's massively shorten loading times. Not having any other programs take CPU could help reduce loading times as well. Unsure if having a better GPU allows for faster loading. But I don't think so, because after changing my GPU, the loadingscreen time stayed the same.

My loadingscreen time is always 2.5 seconds. Playing in 4k.

PS: Not using any add-ons. GFE is off.
PPS: With a question like this: include your platform, hardware specs, and current loadingscreen times.

An SSD is what you want. I run on an SSD and have loads of addons, but all of my load times are sub 10 seconds, usually sub 5 seconds

2.5sec sounds awesome. I use kinda old hardware:
Intel i5 4690
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Intenso SATA III 480GB
4x4GB RAM 1600MHz
H97 GAMING 3 Motherboard

And I have ~10 seconds loading screen at the moment with 2 monitors (both 1920x1080) and the game running in windowed(fullscreen) mode. For the graphic settings I have everyrhing off/low except the subsampling rate which is high.
Can you say which is the most crucial part of the hardware given there is already an SSD?

a lot of the loading screen comes from HD

i run eso on multiple computers with different locations where ESO is installed

i have a laptop that has a really slow HD that sometimes can even time out doing an initial character load
i have an older desktop with an SSHD (faster than normal HD due to the cache but not a full SSD)
and my current desktop with the game on a full NVME SSD

the difference in speed of the game loading between my older desktops SSHD and the NVME SSD i would say is minimal, though the SSD is a bit faster

the laptop is really slow, occasionally timing out after selecting a character because the load screen took too long is awful lol, once im past the load screen though the game runs fine on the laptop

i also use tons of addons, but never noticed any impact from those (though i know some of them are higher impact)

Depends to a degree on which loading screens you're referring to - when zoning, booting to the character screen, or loading into the game?

I play on PC without add-ons and had tremendously reduced loading time on all three things when I got a new computer recently with 32Gb ram, Radeon 6750XT graphics card, and a decent motherboard and processor. Two SSDs, one for the Windows 10 system and the other for game storage, combine with the rest of the specs to make a big difference.

The other thing that I've heard makes a difference is the size of your quest journal. I also suspect, but without any confirmation, that multiple guild memberships may slow things down a bit - basically anything that increases the amount of data that needs to be loaded in. I'm not in any guilds.

It's about the loading screens from game to character screen and back into the game from character screen. I noticed that the first login from the character screen into the game always takes a bit longer but that doesn't really matter.

I have no quests on most characters and only 1 guild at the moment but that's interesting input. ESO has its own SSD here too.

That's an *Intenso-ly* old hard drive. Buy a 500GB or 1TB SSD (Usually, the bigger the storage the cheaper it becomes per GB) and you're good to go.

Game uses CPU to decompress textures. Faster CPU = shorter loading time. Also a pci-express SSD disk.

Looking at your system, 10 seconds isn't that bad honestly!

Your entire system is quite old(sorry). Getting a new SSD would help some, but you may want to hold off for an entirely new system alltogether one day. Due to all the other restrictions/limits your PC has.

But like I said, a 10 seconds loadingscreen time isn't bad, so in your case there is no real reason or hurry to upgrade.

PS: Personally I'm always going for a samsung PRO SSD. They always seem the fastest and most reliable. (using an M2 myself)

Agree, also more ram helps a lot so 32 GB, so system hold more textures in memory, all the new motifs and styles require lost of textures. I have 64 GB for other reasons but caching works so well it was not much difference between an HD and an M2 SSD, but starting is faster on the SSD.
