Do I need to unlock mage & fight guild for lorebooks to appear

Might be me been thick, just started fresh on pc coming away from playstation. I added the addons to help find lorebooks but they aren't showing but sky shards do with the addons.

With the lorebooks not showing, do I need to unlock the mage guild for example for them to appear? I thought it was the broken addon but then had a thought lol

Nope think your add on is broken bud. They should/will appear regardless but i would still grab the skill line first. Make your life easier.

Check the Filters tab on the map screen.



The exact filter you need to check may vary depending on which addon you are using.

There is a specific Addon called "Lore books" you may want to add. Also, I use this rather new Addon to see Lore books from a distance. It works well for me: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info2443-DryzlersLoreBooksBeta.html

Where on gods earth are the filters? When I bring the map up or setting I can’t see anything to do with filters

Unlocking the Mages Guild is not required for lorebook addons to display locations.

As long as the addon is properly installed and enabled, it should show all lorebooks regardless of your character's progress.

A few things to check:

1. Double check the addon is enabled in your AddOns menu under Settings. Sometimes they can get disabled.
2. Make sure the lorebooks are toggled on in whichever addon you use.
3. A lorebook icon might not display if you've already collected that specific book on your account.

You may also try an addon called Map Pins.
