Unrewarding

Played 6 games for two daily reward coffers and this was the better of the two. Nothing else of note, besides a couple of Pelin style pages which no one wants. What is the point?
Every time I finish a game I am left with a dull sense of time wasted. I could've spent this time at a volcanic vent or doing crafting writs for more reward.

If the other box had Pelin style pages, it was probably the better box as a style page is nice reward for those that don't have it. It also used to be expensive, but since it's relatively easy to get, it's going to decrease in price by nature.

I've been trying to grind the ranks and it's absolutely the most mind-numbing yet infuriating process I have ever done in ESO. The rewards aren't any worse than any other dumb RNG box reward in ESO in my opinion, but I wish matches did reward more progress through the ranks. I'm sitting at rank 4, played for 2 hours, and didn't even go up 10% towards rank 5. I think it will be next year before I manage to stick things out with this little piece of hell within ESO and get to the master rank.

if your still working on tribute rank, the most efficient way to do that is just work the NPC daily, playing expert NPCs

the experts are like +75 rank xp and you get a large xp bonus for 3 wins (the total amount is something like close to 400 xp doing this)

its a little easier but less efficient doing the same with novice npcs (they give like 25 rank xp but are easier to beat)

if your talking about the pvp ranks, thats a different kind of beast, and also not something ive been fond of trying lol

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. It just still is taking far too long for my liking, haha. I'm not a fan of ToT at all though, sadly, so no matter what I won't find the process enjoyable. But even with winning three yesterday against experts (all first try, no losses), and turning in for the +75 rank points, I only went up like 7% or something like that. When I do the daily today, I'll actually check the exact percent it goes up from all that, but I know it's less than 10%.

i think doing the tribute "story quests" (the tournament) also give large chunks of rank xp

i think i remember earlier on i played a lot of novice matches just for easy wins, but those later ranks did take quite some time, and i can understand if you have lower interest it is gonna feel like its taking longer

im not sure if tribute achievements also count towards the rank xp too, been over a year since i leveled up that line lol, but i do remember there being "slow" spots

Yes, but sadly I cannot dot the story quests until I get to rank 5, then I believe the next one is rank 7.... so that doesn't really help getting from rank 4-5 and then 6-7. Like I said, I just wish it wasn't such a drawn out process. I know High Isle didn't have a lot of content and maybe they felt the need to make it so slow to grind.... but it's Necrom now. I think it'd be reasonable for them to up the rank points gained per match and dailies.

edit: just did the rank five story quest, it only rewarded 3% towards the next rank.... so yeah, that didn't help much at all.

yeah it could probably be a little faster

i dont think the actual amounts of tribute xp were changed since the introduction of the game, but i know it took me a couple months to top out, but when i first started playing it, i was doing the daily every day and back then it required you playing a specific difficulty npc to actually progress the daily (so it was a grind until like rank 4 when you had to start playing proficient, and was another grind until you got to 6 for the expert ones)

i wish i remembered more of what i did, but i dont remember exactly how i progressed through the tribute, but i know i was playing a lot of extra matches per day to learn the cards better, mostly against the novice npcs in the gaming hall

At this point, the coffers are laughable. They need better mats and better cash rewards. More incentive for people to play.

If you got a survey OP then you got one of the better coffers, since usually the contents are even worse. They should definitely add more high value mats in coffers, and also make these mats drop more frequent. Given how long dailies can take, if someone were to farm during that time, they would get 4-5 times the yield, so it's not worth it.

I keep telling myself that I never want to play ToT again because it's just a waste of time and completely unrewarding. It's also extremely annoying when something about the behavior of the AI is constantly being changed and it sometimes produces absurd results when playing against the NPCs. But then someone had the brilliant idea of hiding leads behind ToT matches with a probability of 1:1000 of getting them... Which doesn't produce a positive incentive, but rather a feeling of being forced.

What I find frustrating is the rarity of the clues. That'd be worth it for me if they made them slightly less rare.

I’ve been trying to get the houseguest, but even after playing multiple games for months I’ve only got half of the required 10 fragments.

And I think with every update the drop rate gets worse not better.

And it;s not just that, fewer transmute, fewer recipes, fewer just about anything you might actually want. If ZOS wants people to play ToT maybe lean on the carrot instead of the stick!

IIRC, defeating grandmasters rewards more rank points than anything else. Normally these are locked behind max rank already, but Druid Braigh in Galen is not and you can repeatedly challenge him to grind xp.

Are transmutes being rewarded from ToT now at all? I haven't got any from the dailies for some time now. Used to be the best source for me to get them. The rewards I'm getting now really are poor compensation for the time spent in games, even against NPC.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!
