ANCESTRAL AKAVIRI SET | How many years does it take to get?

I feel like I've searched Blackwood more than I ever want to see it. I still haven't found a lead for 1 piece of Ancestral Akaviri and I only want 2!

If anyone has the set, how many months or years did it take?

you can just buy them off the guild trader, or buy the treasure maps off the guild trader. The leads have a 25-33% chance of dropping when you open a map treasure chest.

I haven't even ground for mine yet...

The Ancestral leads are by far the worst to get in the game, but it does go, it just takes a lot of time (and a lot of money for maps). I did finish the Ancestral Breton with all codices last year, so here are the tips I have:
    1. DO NOT HOARD LEADS. It seemed like a good idea to keep the leads unscried/unexcavated so it'd force the one piece I was missing. It doesn't work like that. I went on a spree and had at one point 11 of the leads in my journal, at which point I went the next 50 or so maps without getting a single one. It seems the lead is given when the map is dug up, so if you already have it in your inventory at that point, you just get nothing instead. At least that way gave duplicates to sell and try to recoup map costs.
    2. Wait for a zone event. I went hard for my Ancestral Breton right after the High Isle community event, because one of the features of the event was that maps dropped a lot from the boxes so the market got flooded very quickly with them. It ended up dropping the price of maps on guild traders down to something 'reasonable,' and they were rather plentiful at that point. Now we don't have a Blackwood event planned... yet. But it's been two years, and they like to have anniversary events two years after a respective Chapter...
    3. Pray to RNGeesus. That's it. Ancestral Reach took me almost two years to luck out on. Ancestral Breton was quicker, but that was because I went hard to grind for it right after the Chapter event. And even then it took somewhere on the order of 150 maps to get the last page I was missing. There really needs to be curation on these.
Fortunately, if you're only interested in the styles, you can find the motifs on guild traders. If you want the codex filled as well... well, may the RNG be ever in your favor.

Takes a while to farm it.I was missing shield forever.Took over 200 maps to get all pieces.Make sure you let your leads fill the zone(I think 8 leads is max per zone),and only do one or 2 motif leads at a time so next one that pops is hopefully one you need.If you only want 2 pieces better off using gild trader like others said.

I refuse to engage with these motifs - I discovered very quickly that the rng is horrific (like fewer than 1 in 10 treasure maps were even producing a lead for me) and it's not worth the aggravation. For me at least...

I wish anyone luck if they decide to grind these out. And... buy my maps :P

EVENTUALLY, I'll make enough from selling the maps to buy them all if I want to.

Imagine, I've dug like almost 300 maps to got the lead of the last page I was missing in the deadlands. As long as you don't get a specific one, the expectation of maps required for finding that exact lead is 1/((1/14)*(1/4))=56, assuming that lead drops is around 1/4 and all 14 leads are uniformly dropping. However, since it's a memoryless event, all maps used already won't contribute to the number.

I changed my main character's name to "Prays to RNGeesus" because my RNG in ESO is soooooo incredibly poor.
    It hasn't helped.

I don't remember the exact number of maps, but I do recall that it took well over 100 maps to get the final page that I was missing. Ancestral Daedric is just as, if not more brutal. I've burned so many maps and am still missing 2 codex entries. RNG in ESO is just straight up trash.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's asking for community assistance.

    Thank you for your understanding

can't say that was my experience when I farmed Ancestral Reach. to me, it felt like it did help. to be honest tho, it's really stupid how there is no item drop curation equivalent for leads
