Would you buy multiple versions of a house/property if you could?

A friend and I were discussing housing and housing contests recently and lamented that you could only buy a house/property once, and a choice between furnished or unfurnished. I think it would be cool (and more potential money for ZOS) if you could buy a house/property multiple times and have instances of it. Often I will create a look for a housing contest and love it so much that I want to keep it rather than break it down to use the same house whose layout I really like for another build. Named instances like how you can name armory builds would be cool and when you select to travel to a house, the way you can already choose to travel to the inside or outside, you could choose "outside, inside Furniture Store, inside Halloween House, inside Bar and Grill House" etc.

Would anyone else buy multiple "instances" of a house/property you love?

I would buy multiple versions of the houses that are basically building plots not so much the ones with houses already on them!

It would be interesting to see what would happen to the prices of the bed of coals, Hlaalu shed enclosed and other items that currently sell for nice high prices(on PC-EU at least) if people could suddenly access more of those than is possible right now!

Yes I've wished for exactly this before and talked about it with other housing guild mates who'd also like this feature.

I don't buy furnished houses, but I'd love multiple instances of my favorite properties. For example I'd love another Sleek Creek. It's one character's home that feels like them, and feels wrong for my new main. But it's one of the best houses in game feature-wise, so had it been an option, I might've made a new version of it rather a different house entirely.

I would love to have multiple versions of inn rooms. I want to re-furnish my first house but it's sentimental in its weirdness. Additionally, buying large houses multiple times to create several "pages" of storage for furnishings would create a massive gold sink to fight inflation.

Definitely! Especially the small and medium sized houses! Since ZOS keeps throwing these huge, overpriced 'houses' at us, that you can never fill using the slots available, I'd rather have several variations of the small ones. Those can be furnished with lots of details, without having to block off half or three quarters of it.

I brought this up awhile back on my "we need more land" thread and I'm sure it's been brought up before that, it just makes sense. If dungeons can be split(normal/vet) why can't houses? I have several designs I'd like to implement for many houses, or tricks that I've learned through experience, yet still like my original build enough to not want to tear it down.

Idk why zos leaves so much money on the table with these ideas when you've literally got people yelling "take my money".

Not sure how it will work in-game. But if it's with gold, I guess if I really want one. But with crowns/real-money, No. Once I buy a crown-locked house, I would rather not buy it again. One-and-Done-Deal.

I guess you could do something like a house-outfit station, where you can choose which build you would like to display. But then there is the question of, what happens to potentially 700+ items that are "removed" from Preset #1, if you're choosing Preset #2?

I personally feel like it adds more confusion. I do understand the desire however. There have been plenty of times where I would've loved to redesign my Hall of the Lunar Champion anew again. Or Moon-Sugar Meadow or Lakemire Xanmeer. But I do like the current structure where it's simple and straight-forward, once you finish a house, it's done.

I think adding more empty plots of land would be nice. This way, it still adds more diverse houses, and gives more options for customized builds.

For example, my Moonsugar Meadow is a festival, but I would like to have another similar blank canvas (not a daedric one as do not like them) to do a different build.

This would be my preference. It would be easier for the developers (no housing styles to focus on) just empty plots. Could even get creative with it, on clouds in the air(my glass tower would be perfect there) water, a mountain top(I could do some wicked caves there)

i responded no, because i could not see myself spending the money on the houses more than once

i pretty much use them basically as free port locations and dont do much decorating (though i have like 74 houses lol)

even though i answered no, i dont think its unreasonable for people want to design a house differently on the same account

maybe instead of buying another copy of the house, they could implement some kind of "loadout" style thing almost like the armory system, it would just save off all of the furnishings and could put them in some kind of special storage system that is only used for this purpose

No; I decorate each house once and then never want to do it again from scratch. I would never have a purpose for multiple instances of the same house.

The prices of houses are extortionate in real world money. A single house in ESO costs more than a brand new triple-A game. There is absolutely no way I would pay them multiple times.

The option for multiple instances should come with the price.

I have recently swapped from just reading General, to reading Recent.

I did this because of the utterly crazy and constant moving of threads to "somewhere more suitable" but the benefit was worth it, it means I now see threads like this as long as they are still active! 💕

This^ I really like the layout of some of the houses, so I wish I could get them again to decorate in a different way--especially some of the base game houses that are available to buy with gold.

Personally I would never use this feature but of course I wouldn’t mind others having access to it. In another game I play off and on housing is tied to the individual character and I always hated that and didn’t use it much. When I first started playing ESO I was so happy houses were shared by all my characters.

Well I like the idea of having multiple instances of one house to furnish to sute multiple characters. I'd love to in fact!

But considering a big house crown costs as much as a fullprice AAA game... well no. It is way to expensive as it is, compared to what it offers. So the aswer is no. Unless the make a compelling offer. But I do not think so. If it were an afordeble amount of gold on the other hand. But that is nothing they are gonna do.
