Hermaeus Mora Statue from Crown Store - Poorly Rendered Textures/Visuals. Please Fix.

Hi,

I recently bought the Hermaeus Mora Statue that's released on the Crown Store. It's 3000 Crowns, however after buying it, and looking at it up close, the textures look very blurry/poorly rendered. Everything just looks low resolution. I haven't seen any other statue look this poor before, especially ones that are crown-locked.

Yeah this looks like they just pulled from the game and threw it up for crowns for a quick buck. I'll pass, sorry to those who purchased. this will probably never be fixed.

Yikes. This looks so bad they should refund anyone who got this, pull it from the store and only bring it back when it’s properly done.

That won’t happen, but still that’s what would be the right thing to do. Glad I saw this before getting it.

When I saw this at a friends house, I was so happy I hadn't brought it.

It's not cheap to buy and it looks awful, really, really awful. 🙁

Edit:- I have been caught out with statues from the Crown Store before, now wherever possible I view them ingame first.

I hope they will bring the statue back some time with higher resolution. As long as it looks like that I will not buy it. Perhaps if they promise to fix it soon.

I came here to voice my complaints about this exact thing. The texture render looks like it's waiting to load in, how did this pass quality control lol @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin can either of you look at this and honestly say its alright?

Hoping they can fix it or correct it or make it better whatever the term might be.

I would honestly consider contacting support about a refund rather than hold out hope that they'll fix it anytime soon.

Surely it's a mistake of some kind? The book stacks don't even look like books.

They've just used the model from Seekers Archive. I think textures must have improved a whole lot since the Craglorn update came out, it certainly looks very bad compared to other modern furnishings. I don't mind the books not looking like actual books but they should at least look like stone carvings of books, not stone carvings of pixels. The model itself is fine but it definitely could use the texture re-rendering at a better resolution. As it is it would just about be okay at the scale of one of the little monthly ESO+ statuettes.

And dammit, that reminds me: I still want a little Hermaeus Mora ESO+ statuette for a bedside shrine to The One Who Knows! Please can we have one of those soon...

I was just about to post the exact same thing here and saw yours. I had a spot for it in mind, but it won't work. It's too low-res for anything but distant placement.

Here's additional screenshots; compare to the *free* Guar statue in the foreground, leaves and even the ground around it. Awful for an item that equates to ~$30 USD.





There's just no excuse to sell something like this and not update the textures.

I play on Ultra, 4k, rtx 4090 and no add-ons. I saw the exact blobs in people's homes, I visited 7 different ones on pc/na. still a big booger.

to be fair a lot of their item textures look pretty awful, I always laugh when I see things that are supposed to look like corn or apples in a cart and they just look like a flat layer of low-res colors.

I feel the same way about the gold they put in this amphora...it doesn't even look like they tried. 3 different furnishings with vastly different graphics.

Those at least look like what they're supposed to, even if it is low quality. The books on the throne however just kind of look like sludge or like incredibly aged, and moldy, accordions.

I hadn't noticed, but i can say it does look odd. I was hoping the statue wouldn't be so darn huge, maybe a version that's shrunk down some to make it easier to fit and the textures might look better.

Hi All, thanks again for all of your feedback here. After an investigation, our team has figured out the issue and will be fixing the texture issue on the Hermaeus Mora Statue. We should have this fix in for the first 1st incremental after Update 39. Once we have a confirmed date, we'll let everyone know. But we are aiming for Mid-September.

Anyone else having an issue where the new higher res textures are disappearing when the statue is activated?

The higher res "books" stay the same, but the high res texture for the "rock" that the books are embedded in changes to low res "wet mud".

The textures change back to high res as soon as the statue is deactivated, but return to low res again if activated.

Got the patch fix on xbox today and if anything it looks worse than before.If you look at it in first person its really bad. Are we going to get a proper fix? It really wasnt cheap to be this poor quality
