Running ESO on a Mac Studio M2?

tonne.backlinderb16_ESO
Is it possible to run at higher resolutions? Is it smooth? As you might guess I'm thinking about buying a Mac Studio

It runs fine and workarounds are only due to certain client launcher releases. As of this writing it works out of box for my AS Mac.

Can't speak for M2, but runs great on M1 (way better than on my old Intel mac). There used to be some bugs but ESO fixed those recently (though it took them awhile).

As a long-time Windows hater, I've tried to run the game on a Mac with an external GPU, on an internal NVIDIA GPU, and now an internal AMD GPU. I also tried running it on someone else's M1 Mac mini. I kept playing on a 12-year-old ATHLON XP-based PC, if that tells you anything about the performance on Macs. The game actually runs BETTER if you do NOT have a GPU on Intel, which seems insane, but it's true. Maybe the M2 is enough to push the performance into "acceptable" territory over the M1. I'd have to see it on recorded video before I'd believe it, at this point.

I was playing on a PS5 quite happily. It plays beautifully on console. But I was talked into getting another PC by my friends who still play on it. So I bought a loss-leader at a Microcenter for $700, and locks in at 100 FPS at "maximum" graphics settings.

You'd think my $4,000 MBP could run it better than a slide show, but no. Am I bitter? I sure am. I have wasted an enormous amount of money trying to get good gaming performance on Macs, and have given up the idea entirely, at this point.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's a MAC technical inquiry.

    Thank you for your understanding
