make increasing cost of block in pvp already

ppl can block heal for eternity even without a shield

why useless dodge have increasing cost and block no? you cant heal and use skills in blocks

    You can block-cast and you still take damage while blocking. Dodging you don't take damage at all.

    I'm not disagreeing with your suggestion just answering your question and correcting your statement. I can't say I've experienced what you're talking about but I do not doubt that it happens.

    How would it work though? If all they had to do was drop block to reset the cost, then it probably wouldn't be effective enough for what you want. But if it had a cooldown, like streak and dodge roll, then it would cause problems in pve. Can you imagine vMA with a block cooldown?

    Damage should scale from only weapon or spell damage.

    Healing should scale from only magicka or stamina.

    Core combat ability cost, block percentage, and damage shields should scale from health.

    Problem solved. No more unkillable pvp damage builds. You only get two out of three.

    Let's not get onto the topic of who's smart, when the title includes the *growning* instead of increasing.

    I had to actually read the thread to grasp what you meant.

    They definitely need to decouple healing from damage. They should not scale off the same stats. To increase one should mean to sacrifice the other but they based this game off Skyrim's incredibly basic attribute system.

    I don't believe Battle Spirit affects how much damage blocking negates. Maybe blocking effectiveness should be halved in Cyrodiil?

    So, here’s a question. If people can hold block and “easily outheal to full health in 3 seconds” as you say, what would a ramping cost do? All someone would need is three or four seconds of blocking, then they’re good.

    By the way, those perma-blocking builds? They might as well be armed with a pillow for all the damage they can do. You have to specifically spec into that kind of thing with traits, enchants, and CP. Doing so takes a A LOT away from your offense.

    Sure, it can annoying to face one of those eternal shield-bearers. But what eventually always happens is one of two things: one, people just walk away and they gain nothing but dopamine from having trolled so hard, or two, they get zerged down without changing anything significant about the fight.

    I agree, if someone uses snb or icestaff they can block for minutes on end while healing, way too easy.

    battle spirit does make players deal less dmg to other players

    so in a way the person blocking is taking half dmg even before other mitigations are in play

    so basically between armor (if at cap) and battle spirit is already -75% of the normal dmg from the skill before it even hits block

    and block mitigation caps out around 90%

    Actually block and dodge are both exploitable for creating stalemate troll builds.

    Realistically, battle spirit should cut block mitigation and dodge time in half

    Curse was not blockable back in the days and I still think that is not. Also the mage wrath execute but it was bugy so for this one I cannot really say.

    Also back in the days impulse was not blockable as most of the magicka AoE spells while the weapon AoE skills were blockable.

    Also the dots are not blockable, and relequen set is not which at max stats makes tons of damage.

    I think here the biggest reduction is that if you block the skill cannot crit and not that the mitigation was 95% unless you want to hit a block troll build.

    Pull up your character stats and check block % amount.
