epic games install not compatible with an existing eso account game install

When you buy eso from epic games store and you have an existing install even if direct epic games to the existing install. it overwrites the launcher and tries to install again. This whole process is completely broken. My son want to play but I'm not giving up a another 100gb of disc space to play 1 game surely both can run from a singular install of the game. This whole process needs to be reworked.
