[Request] Please add slaughter fish in Fungal Grotto 1/2 dungeon.

People have been cheesing this dungeon for such a long time by completing it quickly by skipping the rest of the bosses after fighting the first by heading in this direction (as shown in the photo) and jumping into the water to swim to the last boss. This prevents new players from exploring the dungeon.

Please, no. You can explore that dungeon on your own if you want, don't deprive other people of a useful shortcut.

Personally I think dungeon completion should just require all bosses to be defeated. Don't do the content? Don't get rewarded for it.

Not if you add slaughterfish they can't. What content, anyway, fighting the same bosses for the 100th time?

Edit: If you don't want to skip, ask your groupmates not to skip. Run with guildies or other people who will agree to your request. What you're suggesting is a heavy handed approach that will only benefit the few.

No. Too boring after the 100th time thru there.
If you want to kill everything, stay in the dungeon and do that after the last boss is killed. That's what I do if I'm levelling a character and want the kills for XP.

Most players have done these dungeons 1000 times already. Especially since AWA you don't need to do it all over again with every new character. New players can ask in chat to do all bosses. Most groups are nice and will help out. Thinking about boss nr. 3 in vFG2, the one with the adds who gets a shild if you kill all adds - I'm glad to have a shortcut. This can be a very looooong, boooooring fight if players don't know mechanic and refuse to read chat.

This fighting the same bosses includes endbosses. Maybe you should just stop running dungeons and start the real endgame : housing

In my experience, when running FG1 or 2, people do what the majority wants. The other day I ended up in a group with 3 under lvl 50 characters in FG1 and me the only one with CP.
Once we came to said waterfall one asked if we would skip or run, then we voted and we did complete without skip because 2 players where new and wanted to kill everything.
It is a lack of communication what ruins dungeon runs for new players often.

I solo or duo FG1 routinely and never use the water swim speed trick simply because I don't want to miss killing anything. That said, I've accidently fallen into the water several times while running across the bridge between the mudcrab miniboss and the final dungeon boss. You have to swim a bit to get out and would never make it with slaughterfish. Starting the dungeon over at that point would be really frustrating. When I have run the dungeon with others (who are also not interested in a speed run) I have seen others fall in the water as well.

I don't have chat enabled properly. It appears then disappears so I have no. Idea what's going on. If someone wants to do the bosses I follow though.

If the group aren't friendly you queue again straight after and it'll come up quite quickly. There are always people doing that dungeon.

If I jump in the water I've often struggled to get out of the water in time for the final battle so tend I run past the other bosses anyway.

In exchange, make all those tiny crabs on the bridge and at the crab boss elite mobs with 12 mio hp each. After all, we all want a real dungeon experience and a challenge, right?

The skip doesn’t always work that well sometimes. One or two players struggle getting up the ledge to last boss then getting HM can take awhile because some adds get pulled then your stuck combat. Sometimes clearing all the bosses is quicker, but I just follow the group

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else here, just speak up and most groups will be fine running a complete. I used to run this solo so often(way back I was DETERMINED to get a full druegh king slayer set. The freaking BOW took a couple of MONTHS from a chest. Gotta love rng) and I still use it to soft test new builds. What you're asking for is an almost guaranteed death if anyone falls unless they're in one spot(right before the bridge to the crab) and what about when you leave? Will you walk back through the whole dungeon? Another dungeon you HAVE to port out of? Just leave it alone and ask to see it all. Most people really won't mind.

Slaughterfish won't fix the issue. You'll have at least 4-5 seconds alive in water. It is enough to reach the crab-boss island.

The problem exists, but it should be solved with different tools. It is not the one dungeon issue, but all dungeons globally.

The root of the problem is a conflict in players` motivations/goals. Some people came to run the dungeon fast for reward. Some for quest and atmosphere. Some for loot from definite boss. Some just for fun. All those people find themselves in random group with each other and try to reach their own goals as they can. It is a road of inevitable frustration. That's why people of each side often ask to punish others for doing dungeon not their way.

The obvious and bad way to solve the problem - make different queues for different interests. It would obviously separate the people who run with different speed, which is good. It will make each queue proportionally longer, which is very bad.

Another way is to teleport people to the rest of the group. It works today for bossfights, but in unfair way - forward only. I guess it should work for all fights, not bosses only. More than that I'm convinced, that it should happen in both directions. If 3 of 4 people are fighting somewhere back in corridors, fastrunner should join them in fight, not the opposite.
Honestly, there are many technical problems with this idea. How to solve 2vs2 case for instance? Also it won't really solve the problem of frustrated people. The idea is raw.

A bit better way is to make a story mode for dungeons. It will solve the problem for people who are frustrated of speedrunners the most. So they could do their quests and enjoy the atmosphere without any rush. The question of reward/no-reward is solvable I think, it is not a real problem.

The rest of interests are easier to put together. The main unsolved problem would be skippable bosses and people who want their loot, I think. It usually can be solved with ingroup communication, but well sometimes it just doesn't work.
The good solution is simple extending the time players can be in dungeon after the end of run. Well I guess it can't be endless by some technical causes - devs somewhy added the timer. Then please make this timer resettable by some action. Ran into battle, looted the container, entered the door - some activities that reset it, so you could have your 1-2 minutes again. It will free the instance from afkers, but allow active people loot missed chests, kill skipped bosses etc. It won't eat so much server resource.

    TLDR:
Please add the story mode for dungeons and make the timer after the run extendable.
It will solve most of the PUG dungeon frustrations.

In a perfect Mmo or even an Mmo, with normal standard, skiping, fake roles doesn´t happen. There are good exampels out there.

I had over 17k playing hours PS4 and PS5 combined, since I joined this adventure called ESO. Guess how manny time I have done FG 1/2, both normal and vet - I have lost count haha. Not once have I had the urge to skip anything.

I joined just after One Tamriel and at that time I did not encounter fakeroles and skips the way manny of you do today. In some rare situations you could encounter a new player, who wasn´t sure of her/his role, so they could enter a dungeon on a fake role or they just had to be use to their role through playing, which is really normal.

Through the year´s it became worse and nothing have been done about bespite these forums have been flooded with complaints about improper behaviour.

Hitting lvl 15 (hope I remember right here), you have your first access to some of the basegame dungeons. In an "normal" Mmo it would be easy to get your dungeon quests done as a new player. As you all know. Not in ESO.

Why is it allowed to go on and on ? The only logical answer to this is zos don´t see it as a problem or just ignore it (both perhaps).

Some of you will encounter suicide to skip and run as fast as possible to reach the dungeon boss ( harder content). I have never see these things happen in another Mmo I have played for a very long time. Why ? Because it´s not possible.

Every single one of you, who oppose this have to on a personal level figure out how to handle this, by leave or accept it. Zos will not make any change. This have been going on for some year´s now and just gotten worse.

OP your suggestion good, but let me remind you, that your struggle for change will end before zos will change anything. Not saying you should give up.

    Whatever you decide. Goodluck

I might argue the shortcut method is part of the experience. That said there are many runs where players can opt to take a shortcut thru some of the content.

you want to run the dungeon completely only once, to finish all bosses.

Afterwards, you want to run it dozends, if not hundrets of times as fast as possible.

    Reasons:
    - daily endeavour
    - weekly endeavour
    - undaunted event (Eventbox farming)
    - a daily pledge now and then

So by changing it, you shoot your own knee.

Plz no, those waters are a convenient place to wash all the Dreugh off my armour ;)

Seriously tho, FG is fine as it is IMO, just solo it on normal. It's one of the most forgiving dungeons in the game and after a couple runs you'll be breezing through it..

Soloing dungeons is WAY more satisfying, fun, I can go at my own pace, EXPERIENCE the ones that have a cool story quest, etc. Once you have done a dungeon a few times you may be looking for shortcuts yourself too.

But you can't alter content or expect others to conform to your agenda in a PUG, everyone has their own agendas and if you are using dungeon finder you have to expect that.

Or if soloing isn't your thing run with friends\guildies who share your goals.

I have never seen anyone on here post anything GOOD about group finder or random normals, so learning to work around it may take a lot of stress off of you :)

I hate this “you should have to kill everything” suggestion that keeps popping up as threads. It’s not going to happen. Removing the fg1 skip would be an extremely unpopular idea. People aren’t going to kill every single obsidian ghost thing in fg2. Ruins of mazzatun has its own achievement for killing the entire dungeon. March of sacrifices gets a lot longer when you have to hunt down all the spread out trash packs. Most DLC dungeons require killing everything for speedrun/no death. Farm runs would take longer, thus mask and motif pages would probably go up in price. Maybe the premade group thing will help people find what they’re looking for without advocating to rip how the majority plays away from us.

If you want to run FG slowly, then solo it. It is objectively the easiest dungeon in the entire game. I cannot recall the last time I ran FG willingly in a group. If it's the pledge, I solo it in 5 mins. Stop trying to change the game for others to fit your play style.

The problem comes from having multiple objectives in the same content. Rewards for solo play and different ones for group play in the same dungeon are what makes this an issue. ZOS need to remove the incentives to treat dungeons as anything but group content. Transmutes, daily endeavors, don’t belong there.
