I am confused at how the perks work. The way its written they need to stay in the aoe for it to work. But people tell me that you only need to pass thru it. Please explain

So no one has to stsnd in the aoe to get the buff?

A small AOE appears in the middle of whatever AOE was cast to proc it, players have to be inside of that AOE to receive the buff.

You can walk through it and get Major Courage. The buff remains with you for 20 seconds after you leave the circle.

As long as you stand in the circle, the buff is being refreshed (its duration stays at 20 seconds). When you exit the circle / the circle expires, the buff duration will count down like any other buff (19 seconds, 18...).

You have to stand in the circle to get the buff with Olo but you don't have to stay in it. With SPC the buff is applied by overheal and has a shorter duration.

You and your group members in the circle gain Major Courage for 20 seconds

When you are in the circle, you get Major Courage. That buff lasts for 20 seconds, i.e. you can leave the circle and still have the buff on you.
Meaning no, you don't have to stand in it all the time.

Set procs on you when you stand inside the area. Buff lasts twenty seconds. It procs to six people every tick and prioritizes people without buff.

    ground AOEs proc it

6 people in a group get the buff per second, so over 2 seconds everyone in group can get the buff

olo aoe lasts for 5* seconds, buff lasts for 20 seconds.

in theory it's better than Spell Power Cure's major courage sourcing, which requires overheals and only lasts 5 seconds

in practice you have people standing off in the corner heavy attacking and rationalizing that they don't need buffs/heals if they aren't taking damage while trying to get their cats to stop chewing on their computer cables

This...part of the fun with Olorime was trying to guess where the DPS would be, like a minigame of trying to hit moving targets with the buff. But since they changed SPC no one uses Olorime outside trials, because even if the SPC conditions are harder to meet, the uptimes are way better since the dungeon meta is for one DPS to be off in Narnia, and the other one to be behind the healer.
