I'm trying to learn to play a different class even though I've mained templar since the beginning. U35 was so harsh to templars they're not likely to ever be competitive again, at least not in the next year or more.
Yea I'm using the arena weapons on my arc, was trying to avoid on templar as well but there you go..what have you combined yours with?

Well I am still a purist if sorts so I don't do the weapons. And we get into another problem. Since jabs is channeled; I found I want to go as much speed as I can because I can't sprint while jabbing, and anyone decent can just sprint out and only take 1 or 2 ticks with little investment; so I've got wild hunt, 3 swift, and steed. Otherwise; don't bother with jabs. And then when iu do that; it makes it hard to just dedicate 2 slots front and back bar.
So for pressure; I rely on elemental susceptibility by itself, and PBAOE from solar barrage (not enough but I'll take the 5%), and crescent sweep. Jabs is just there for a little extra and I only really spam it if I suspect a target is trying to cloak out. You might be able to work in blood mist or something depending on your preferences.
It's just small things it they add up. Might want to skip defense sets and look for damage and rely on HOTs from focus, ER, vigor etc along with HTD for emergency use
It's not ideal. I can make most other classes look better and more practical; but I find I just do better on my templar even kind of handicapped, because I'm used to it

Fair enough what are you using?
You like shattered fate, I look at it like I would be giving up a 2,3 and 4.

My favorite stat set to come out in quite some time. I wanted to like Stuhns before, but off balance means randoms with uncontrolled off balance applications can neuter you. I definitely have seen shattereds impact on targets though

Interesting. I’ve been eyeing Shattered Fate. Right now, I’ve been trying to keep the jabs dream alive with Mechanical Acuity and Rallying Cry.
Admittedly I still want changes and buffs to the class but it is performing slightly better atm.
IF you can find a slot on your bar for Solar Barrage and still slot Camo Hunter it's decent. I swapped RaT on back bar for Solar Barrage on one particular build, allowing me to keep Camo Hunter on FB, then use both Crescent Sweep and PotL (as well as Puncturing Sweeps and Jesus Beam), it ain't terrible if the skills work, which is a no in Cyro.
Put your Templar on the retirement bench and play a different class. I refuse to touch it again until they revert Jabs/Sweeps back to 4 ticks. The class has nothing going for it; mediocre and unreliable burst, a lackluster spammable, poor sustain, and average healing/defensives that're outperformed by most other classes.

Wretched, shattered fate, wild hunt, balorg
I'm actually at a loss with this class right now, it just does no dmg with everyone having easy access to minor and major evasion, and jabs being noodles already, and the arena dot builds (I use myself on other classes) are just so much pressure even with extended ritual as it 3.5-4k mag cost to remove only 5 of a potential 10 negative effects applied for free/ very little cost by 1 player let alone out numbered, it just cannot be maintained and kept up with. The aggressor will always win this battle of attrition currently.
Maybe I have spoilt myself playing arcanist as it so ridiculously tanky with great sustain that requires little effort.

I would like to try shattered tbh, it is that good? I actually run wretched (my fav set), pariah, markyn and one piece magma incarnates. Pretty tank tbh.
Also 2h and one hand and shield. The two handed is because I prefer to use wrecking blow over jabs (jabs feel really bad now).
