Discovering antiquities leads.

Can you discover golden leads if your skills are still low level? I mean getting the leads to drop, not the scrying/digging part.

Note, you have 30 Days to dig them up, so if you don't have a character that can Scry and Excavate, you may want to head over to Summerset to get that skill unlocked. The gold and purple leads require a significant amount of skill points and effort before you can dig them up.

If you can get to Artaeum directly, you won't have to do the quest line.

My main, a NB, has the skills maxed out. Was trying for a lead in Fungal Grotto 2. While I could get passed that 2nd boss with my main solo, I figured it would be a lot easier with my Sorcerer. But he didn't have the skills yet, hence my question.

@Snamyap - I've had a LOT more luck getting gold leads on low level characters without the skill line (which sounds stupid, but is how it has always worked for me!)

Dungeon leads though - low levels probably wouldn't work well for those. I don't do dungeons so have no real ideas there.

It's a lvl 50 HA pet Sorcerer fully equipped, I just don't play him very much and never picked up those skills. Got the lead on the 2nd run.

You can even get leads if you have no access to the Skyrim chapter and cannot get the antiquities skill

I saw this a few times on my first character, I was getting leads that were too high for me to scry, and by the time I got to the requisite level, some of the leads had expired. Back then, that was my only character, so I had no other fully antiquity character to use the leads.
