You mean the ones you can get bites from in the wild? I don't know what time they "come out", but I've seen ones in Bangkorai in the middle of the night (game time).

Yes. I know I can easily ask Guild or Zone for a bite.. but I actually prefer the natural and the RP way of getting a bite in the open wild.

What is the visual difference between a werewolf/vamp that can infect you, vs a regular one?
I just assumed that there was a % chance to get infected if you were fighting one, wherever that may be. I actually spent some time in the middle of a den of vamps seeing if that would happen. It was one of those "I'm not going to spoil this by looking online. Let's do it naturally" moments, which of course ended up failing. It did give me some perspective on understanding why a lot of people prefer getting a player bite.

When I got infected outside of Dune, the werewolves took me by surprise, and as I recall there was a message displayed that I'd just been scratched by a werewolf. When you fight regular werewolves there is never any such message, so right away it should be obvious that you've just encountered the "special" werewolves.

Here's the map I created of the spawn locations in The Rift that I have personally witnessed (see my previous post):Happy Hunting
