hello

i just star playing the game i was in the mass test beta so i chose a Templar to by my main character but i have some noob questions about how to make it good PVP.

right now im L8 im using the spear skill line and a 2H weapon.

i see alot of ppl comenting that the templar are not good at the moment is that right?

is right that for DPS i most use Medium armor and only 2 pieces of HA or just MA?

as a spear templar i have to give priority to the Magicka and not stamina?

in all the MMO i play i always chose blacksmith as my profession is that a good profession for a Templar? or i most go to clothier to make MA and buy my Weapons to players?

how many profession i could master? only one? i can make BS for weapons and Clothier for armor? or is a waste of skill point?

sorry for my bad English and the rush of questions XD.

best regards.

I'd use a healthy mix of armor types focusing on heavy for spell resist, medium for stamina and stealth, and light for magicka regeneration.

Whether focusing on one stat or seeking balance I believe is still open to conjecture. You can partly make up for low stats in one area by using your gear/enchants/traits.

Blacksmith, alchemy, or enchanting will surely be useful skills down the road, each with its benefits and costs. Or you could join a guild and simply use their auction house.

    Couple responses:

    1. Until you get close to level 50 (like around 45ish) your gear and armor won't matter in PvP, so go wild with combos to see what feels good before worrying too much on what armor combo is best for you.

    2. Templars use a TON of mana, so focusing on that, either with putting all your stats in mana or wearing mainly light armor, will help you out there. Once again, this won't effect PvP until higher levels, so you'll be playing quite a resource game for the first few weeks/months (depending on your leveling speed).

    3. Spears is good, but you can only get in a couple of hits before your mana is drained. 2H is GREAT along with this as you get a charge, a swipe (with armor shield if you spec into it), a knock-up/back and a nice finisher. You can mix this with your main spear attack (I can never remember the names) for some heavy damage when they're on the ground or slowed. Solar flare line is good as well as it gives you some range and damage over time abilities. This lets you get a tick and damage going before charging in and getting a knockdown.

tl;dr - Gear and stats don't matter in low level PvP, so resource management is key. Use one or two key Templar moves to optimize your magicka usage and use weapon moves for tactical attacks.

For what to do at max level head to YouTube and watch any of the high level PTSers' videos or wait a few weeks until more people are hitting Veteran rank.
