I've done tons and tons, and I both love and hate them. Sometimes I'm in PvP, sometimes PvE gear. The rewards are meaningless to me except a tick on a sheet, but i do enjoy them because its better than nothing.

for the record though, I enjoy it when I want to. If I'm leveling a new toon and use it for xp and alliance rank, its more annoying lol.

There was an achievement or something that required a single bg win. I think I went through 15 bgs before I happened to get randomly paired with a 2 pvp pros that basically won the match on their own.

Happily never went into one again.

BGs used to be an activity of extremes for me. I could get extremely excited when things went well and extremely angry from problems that unfortunately still plague it: constant input delay (as in press the key several times to maybe have the skill/potion fire once), the game sometimes setting up teams ridiculously (twice have I found myself solo in a 4v4v1 arrangement), occasionally not getting credit for a kill or assist (in one absurd case, I trapped the victim's soul, but it didn't count as a kill).

These days I play BGs way less than in the past, as my old build (which wasn't that great) became obsolete, the new one I tried was nerfed soon after I got the sets and I keep postponing looking up another in favor of other stuff at which I'm better.

Edit: For some reason, I read the disclaimer but missed the questions at the beginning. I swear, I'm capable of reading a book from beginning to end!

Rewards: I somehow collected the three chaosball emotes and I like them; I also got the lead for the Alessia statue 3 times, meaning I can just buy them now, and that furnishing is important to an Imperial-lover such as myself; the three teams' armors are some of the coolest, in my view; the sets are okay.

Maps: I like the maps, but we could really use some new ones. Come on, this isn't even about PvP mechanics or balancing, it's a bloody map. As in a map that's covered in blood. Usually mine. I'd love to be able to die in some new places.

Modes: I love domination (the mode, the mode!) and crazy king, feel meh about deathmatch, dislike chaosball (even though I sometimes do well in it) and detest capture the relic.

One last thing: I'm quite curious to know what the "results" option is supposed to mean.

I have done quite a lot of BGs. I dislike PVP, but BGs feel more tolerable than going into IC or doing PVP related stuff in Cyrodiil. I think because there's a well defined goal and a time limit that makes it easier to digest.

I do them for several reasons: 1. To get an endeavor checked off 2. To get that red dye from achievements. 3. To get daily event tickets for Mayhem.

I got my red dye, the best red dye in the game (in my opinion) and I'm contemplating trying for the purple.

The green feels utterly out of reach, because Relic capture is the hardest BG to complete; you have to get the enemy base, snatch the relic before your teammates do, get back to your base, hope to all hopes that your relic is still there, and then turn it in all without getting killed. And then do this 100 times. Seemingly impossible to the point where I have lost hope of ever getting this one; in this case, the annoyance of it outweighs any benefit I could possibly get.

The purple one seems doable though. And I plan on going after it during Mayhem. Outside of getting dyes, though, I do not really enjoy the games. I am not certain I will continue to do BGs once I get my purple dye.

EDIT: I will say, out of all the games, I found chaosball and domination to be the most tolerable. Chaosball was even fun sometimes. Which I thought was always peculiar

A couple of months ago I participated in my first-ever Battlegrounds matches, since there were weekly and daily endeavors for playing Battlegrounds and that seemed like the least-objectionable way to earn endeavors that week or day. Before then, I'd pretty much avoided Battlegrounds for the same reason I was avoiding trials and PUG dungeons-- because certain past experiences had shown that some players are inclined to pass on any group I'm in due to judging me "unworthy" of playing alongside for one reason or other.

But despite being "mostly poop" at PvP, I found that I actually enjoyed Battlegrounds more than I'd expected. Oh, I died a lot, and encountered one or two teammates who either trashed our team as a whole in chat, or who left the group before the match even began(!), but the teams I was playing on usually came in second, and sometimes first. I'm not saying I made any major contributions to that, but I did accumulate several achievements, and made the winning move in a "Capture the Relic" match, so I feel like I wasn't completely worthless.

On the other hand, during a number of matches I ended up running around trying to figure out what I was supposed to do because I'd never played that particular mode before, or struggling to reach some objective because I'd never played that map before and was confused.

So I'm much more likely to play Battlegrounds in the future, but overall it still isn't one of the things that I make it a point to engage in on a regular or semi-regular basis. It does seem to have some decent-enough rewards, although once someone has acquired all of the style pages and gear then I'm not sure whether the rewards would continue to seem as good. And on the plus side, I like that each match has a time limit, as that keeps it "short and sweet."

I tried one BG once simply to see what it's all about, never again.

There's no reward that could get me to ever do another BG again, simply because I dislike PvP and am not in the slightest of a competitive mindset. Add to that the fact that my physical limitations and relatively slow reactions make me not suited for ESO PvP at all.

I have enjoyed battlegrounds — more often during the event because more people try them and so I’m more likely to get well matched games, at least some of the time. I enjoy all modes at least a bit; it matters more to me that it be a close match.

The BG rewards are mostly negligible beyond the daily reward. There are a few maps that I find more confusing than fun, especially if the mode is crazy king, then it can be frustrating trying to figure out where to go.

I've played countless BGs in the 5 years or so I've played this game. PvP is basically all I do.

The rewards aren't that good in my opinion. But I'm not really complaining because I don't think any reward would mean very much to me. I do BGs because they're fun for me.

The maps don't matter to me either, lol. Don't get me wrong there are some maps with elevation and stuff that make it interesting for ranged builds. And lava you can't step in-- ooOoo. And one you can ride your horse in... Huh? But for the most part it's all cosmetic to me. Different scenery same story. I want a new map about as much as I want a new costume.

I do like all the modes.

If I could change anything to make it better I think I'd like DM to have its own que. But that's not really for me that's for everyone that seems to only like DM. They see it as DM v OBJ, as though all the other game modes are the same or something, so somehow DM deserves to be on its own I guess. -shrug- doesn't really make sense to me, but if it makes them happy then good they deserve to be happy. And it'll probably make the OBJ crowd happy to have less kill farming going on in their games. The rhetoric will die down and we might even get some new players! Imagine coming into the forums, or reddit or whatever for the first time, looking up BGs and hearing all the crap that gets spewed. How come new people don't start BGs? Gee I dunno, lol.

Never done one. PvP in ESO is too hard to get into and doesn't interest me.

I'll occasionally go around solo in IC / Cyro for event rewards, but that's not really pvp - that's me sneaking around trying to avoid pvp. If I do get into a fight, I usually just let the other person kill me as quickly as possible because I find it really uninteresting.

So, with how little I want to do it and how little I care, I would never join a team in a BG and drag them down.

Despite battlegrounds having no CP, it still feels like I'm not doing enough. I think the main problem I have is that sometimes it feels like I die to nothing, just randomly die.
This happened to me 2 days ago: Was playing Capture the Relic and I was running from one point to another until I saw an enemy. I turned back to run to my team and there was no sign that I was being attacked but I was already at like 25% HP by the time I looked down.
Not sure if this is due to a graphics setting (I have everything maxxed out as far as it can go), some arcanist skills not being visible, no sound queues, or me being blind although I was staring at the back of my character. Maybe I needed to look for more signs that I was being attacked? I don't know.

Who knows but that made me feel old cause idk if I didn't notice. Could also be that every other game I've been playing just has clearer indicators, which I'm inclined to believe because a lot of the wording in this game really bugs me with my background in rocket science algorithm engineering and lawyer degree I got from reading Yugioh cards.
      If you know, you know.

Nowadays, I don't really go much beyond the daily on characters that need xp but, in the past I used to do more.

I think the rewards are mostly okay but, the messaging around them needs work.

I do think the quests could be adjusted so the rewards aligned more with the effort. The reward for the 1,000 Personal Contribution Points is fine but the others don't align with the effort.

You get like six different outfit styles from Battlegrounds but, it isn't advertised much.

I don't really have many complaints about the maps.

I like all of the modes except for Capture the Relic.

The primary reason I don't play more Battlegrounds is that I got to be good enough/geared enough to be in higher MMR on most of my characters and I don't find the experience enjoyable (I enjoy PvP as a slugging match. I'm not a big fan of CC, lots of dodge rolling, abusing los, boatloads of healing, big burst combos, moaning about the other team/your teammates, builds that are designed to never die, and longer queue times. The higher you climb to more you run into that. ).

I did a longer write up around a year ago on Battlegrounds:

I've done approximately 4-5 BG matches ever. A few to get a win for the Midyear Mayhem laurels years ago, and one more on my main character to clear the "For Glory!" quest from my log.

I don't do BGs because they're exactly the sort of hypercompetitive pvp I don't enjoy, and I don't need the drama of people who take it (too) seriously being mad at me because I'm not as pro as they are.

I like Cyro pvp because I can hide in zergs contribute to keep battles without having to 1vX legions of sweaty tryhards people who know what they're doing, and if I die it doesn't really matter, and I find big sieges fun and exciting. When you have 4 people on your squad, there's more pressure on each of them to perform well. And that's not the kind of pressure I need in my life, especially when I have no reason to expect my teammates or opponents to be chill. If it were all in good fun derping around trying to do objectives or even dueling or whatnot, I could see it actually being kind of enjoyable. But that's not the picture I see painted when people will get mad at you for daring to play objectives and they're judgy about builds and blah blah.

I am interested in some of the rewards, mostly outfit styles and dyes. But I can live without those if it means avoiding the negativity and stress.

Don't really have an opinion on the maps except that's one more thing I'd have to learn to feel competent stepping foot in there.

In theory I would enjoy objective modes more than deathmatch, because I can contribute in ways other than being a murderbot. But that's dependent on people wanting to play objectives and not just be murderbots.

So basically BGs just aren't really on my radar because I assume I would not enjoy them and if I want to do pvp I can go to Cyro and shoot fire at people. The only way I can see myself getting into BGs is if I decided to completely YOLO it and not care at all whether I win or lose or what anybody else says, and hope I get some decent swag along the way.

I do BGs when I need them for an endeavor and during Whitestrake's Mayhem. Though they're a last resort as far as endeavors go. I only do a BG if I can't get 3 endeavors (or the weekly) using PvE activities.

I find that most of the time, BGs are chaos regardless of the game mode. Everyone seems to treat a BG as a deathmatch.

Anyway, not my favourite thing to do, but I don't hate them, either.

That's the best reward of all-- the enjoyment you get from it. The way I see it, if I don't enjoy something enough to do it just for the pleasure I get from doing it, then no reward will truly be enough. To (mis)use a famous quote, "The play's the thing."

I might be enticed to try something just for a reward-- such as trying Battlegrounds for the first time so I could earn a weekly endeavor-- but I'd have to feel like there was a chance that I might actually have fun. I might do unpleasant things in real life out of a sense of obligation or responsibility, but games are supposed to be fun.
