Thanks for the article, @ZOS_Kevin !

Do you know if this event will enable double telvar, as the event last month did?

Edit: My apologies, the article does indicate that double tel var is enabled!

Midyear Mayhem should become Monthly Mayhem and turned into a weekend event.
Give PvPers something to look forward to once per month instead of twice per year.

This would be amazing. Once a month, Friday at 10AM until Monday at 10AM. Double AP & telvar, maybe some random reward boxes.

Would go a long way towards helping alleviate the burnout most PVP players are feeling these days if they had something to look forward to on a monthly basis. I don't know about others, but these days with no new content on the horizon and a stale tank meta, I more or less quit the game between PVP events.

    ^ Exactly!
I literally state this every single time Midyear Mayhem comes around.
It's not like I am a game dev myself IRL and don't know how to create ingame events for high player engagement and retention rates... I just have a $40K Master's of Science degree in Interactive Entertainment just for fun. Ya'know?
The ESO Events team needs to evolve and adapt to modern times! Make Midyear Mayhem into a Midmonth Mayhem monthly weekend event, Friday morning to Monday morning for the 2nd or 3rd weekend of every month! (Mid-month Mayhem.)
Or, better yet, hire me, and I will make the necessary positive changes for you, ZOS.
My favorite ESO event needs an evolution.
    Make it happen.

Yeah I concur. The PvP "mini" events we were promised six months ago shaped up to be awful Domination weekends and the like. Totally lame. A Domination weekend just makes me want to skip BGs for the weekend, not encourage me to play.

Having a scheduled FULL MYM every 30 days for 96 hours would be amazing. Waiting months between MYMs is so sad.

ZOS, you do realize that people very commonly go on VACATION around major holidays, don't you??

    Seriously..

Also, I was all prepped to go on vacation this weekend, well into next week, and expected to miss at least 5 days of the event. Vacation cancelled due to the heat, but still taking the time off. So, perfect chance of Mid Year + Free Time, to make the last 16M AP push to Grand Overlord.

Yep, I know it was announced. But I had hoped that would mean LAST week (still "late" June). But oh well. And this has nothing to do with "virtual currency". I like Whitestrake because there are so many people who PvP during that time, and PvP is my favorite activity in game. I was merely expressing my disappointment that they would schedule such a major event around such a major holiday. I suppose others could argue that they WANT it during this time, since they have time off and therefore more time to play. But oh well, you can't please everyone. I'm just one of the ones who was displeased this round. Don't fault me for that.

    nothing was stolen from anyone.
the new campaigns begin on the first of july which is on the third day of this event and end when august starts because update 38 changed when campaigns reset.

the only thing that happened with cyrodiil campaigns was that the ones that would have ended in June before update 38 now end on july 1.

no other future campaigns should have this.

If you enjoy having your time wasted for nothing in return, then that is on you.

Extending the campaign for approximately double its usual duration without any increase in payout during two instances of an event which doubles alliance points and tel var is basically robbing players of their invested time and effort. If they come out and say they will double the usual rewards then that would be acceptable, but they haven't. Personally, I don't enjoy being cheated without any form of compensation.

Something that is not mentioned in the article is this:

The Impresario's Assistant Philius Dormier had his inventory reworked. All of the Holiday Achievement Furnishings were removed (they can still be found at regular Holiday Achievement Furnishing Vendors) and in their place are fragments for the Unstable Morpholith and its morphs. Deadlands Scorcher fragments are available during this event and they will cycled out for the Deadlands Firewalker fragments for Zeal of Zenithar.

The quarterly rotation cycle seems to go like this:
    • Q1 Events will offer the Doomchar Plateau House fragments
    • Q2 Events will offer the Deadlands Scorcher Skin fragments
    • Q3 Events will offer the Deadlands Firewalker Personality fragments
    • Q4 Events will offer the Dagonic Quasigriff Mount fragments

@ZOS_Kevin , why does the Bag of Veteran's Glory include group repair kits? Doesn't this make it impossible to tell if you already have all rewards from previous years without having to buy it at least once? or worse yet: Can it give you these repair kits before you have all the rewards?

That's a mistake in the article. The Impresario doesn't let you purchase the Bag of Veterans Glory if you have all items it contains, so no group repair kits are coming from it.

    Event Guide: Whitestrake's Mayhem 101 - June/July 2023

If you're new to Whitestrake's Mayhem and don't know much about Player v Player, but you want those sweet Mayhem rewards and Event Tickets anyway, this guide goes through a lot of basics from the perspective of a player who started out as a PVE-only player before slowly learning to PVP. I run through how to get around in PVP zones, get to the event dailies, evaluate them based on difficulty for an inexperienced player, and include tips that hopefully make your experience better whether you dive in battle or just want to get your event tickets and get out.

You can't prevent the risk of PVP during Whitestrake's Mayhem, but you can prepare for it. Good luck and have fun!

I get that PVP ppl deserve their events, but trying to bait us PVE players out by lowering page drop rates and then adding even more pages than usual to try to bait us into staying in both zones as quester-killer food for longer to have even a small chance to get the pages just feels like a trap that makes me want to go even less than usual. Last time I had a little fun in the zergs and was almost looking forward to going, but this business with the pages left a bad taste, and I'm not the only one. This will be the 1st time I haven't gone to get the pages since midyear mayhem 1st started, but the way it looks like it was done this time and last time just makes me think they aren't worth the amount of time and annoyance I'm being baited into. Too much bait in the trap make us fishies know it's a trap and swim away...

Next time try making the page drops not awful and you can lure more of us into feeding the quester-killers.

The event is optional, if you want the rewards then you'll have to participate in the event. Perhaps you'd find your experience better by taking a few minutes to read up on how to set up a proper PVP build so that you can be more than cannon fodder for the "quester killers".

One of the biggest complaints about this game, from both sides, seems to be lack of meaningful earnable in game rewards at endgame. The motifs from this event are a perfect example of a quality earnable reward, and I hope that they keep this trend moving forward.

Drop rate for new motif is super low and as far as I can tell it is 1 per day per account. I did daily quests in Cyro on multiple characters and only got 1 new motif page. The next day I got the exact same page with no hope to farm newer ones.

Tbh. Unless the new motif prices will go down, this may be the 1st time in ESO when I will buy additional event tickets for RL cash. Yes. ZOS, you actually made it ! ;)

Well... um.... you can just buy them all for cash. When one of the option is to just either do content you do not enjoy and the other is to just BUY the reward, then a lot of people will probably go for the 2nd option. Also, it kinda diminishes the importance and prestige of the reward. But, I guess it is good to have options. My biggest complain is that even if you saved full amount of event tickets from the last event then it is still way too many motif pages to collect.

Yes, the event IS optional. My point is that they want more people to go to PVP, but then they do things like lower page drop rates or make it one per day, or last time they even had it so we might get old pages even if we hadn't gotten the new pages yet in the IC sewers. Makes it so we're more likely to opt out.

As for not being cannon fodder... i can put on the clothes all I want. I can watch the videos w/e. The playstyle of pvp and pve are not at all the same. Some ppl like one and not the other. Some ppl like both, most of us don't. When the rewards weren't 1 a day I used to go play in the zergs every event and lead guildies into the sewers to kill the bosses. The way it is now is like I said, not worth it and feels too baity.

Every Midyear Mayhem, I have the same thought--wouldn't it be great if the new style pages dropped in any of the loot boxes? Then you could actually have a fun weekend--do some quests in Cyro until you get bored of those. Switch over to Battlegrounds for a bit. Now go run some bosses in IC. What a fun event that would be! A grand old mix of content that could keep one entertained for an entire event! After all, what better way to capture "mayhem" than encouraging folks to enter the chaos of PVP in all its myriad forms!

And every Midyear Mayhem, I am disappointed--it is like ZOS does not even want players to enjoy the event in all its facets, and instead wants to turn the most interesting rewards into a tedious grind of otherwise dead content... that is not even truly received from the PVP component of the PVP event.

I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed for next time.
