It's not OP but having a 4-to-1 kill-to-death ratio on a class everyone says sucks (understandably so) is pretty cool.
It is, but that's more a testament to player skill, than a defense of Necro, which is still the worst class by far. Anyone with a 4:1 kdr on Necro is gonna have a significantly better kdr on literally anything else played at the same skill level.

I made a gimmicky stam necro build. Rallying cry dw front bar, merciless charge back bar. Deadly strike, malacath. Rapid strikes spammable.

Pretty much just proc merciless charge, since it adds 500 damage to each tick of rapid strike and all direct damage. Blast bones into knife throw (ruffian perk added) and spam rapid strike, repeat. So rapid strikes was over 5k tooltip.

It was fun but necro still is not good. Idk maybe someone can take this and make it better.

I ran Rapid Strikes as spammable with Deadly Strikes. It does hit hard, but the problem is targets will spend a fair amount of time outside of 7m melee range.

Without a reliable class stun or snare, RS as spammable is too limited in its uptime.

But if you build to not use the corpse-targeting abilities and address the fact that the class lacks obviously buffs for Major Brutality & Sorcery (hint: Rattlecage actually addresses this well), you can get it to be workable. I also highly recommend running Vate staff backbarred as that provides a zero-cost ability that carries a heavy weapon set DoT and debuff.

Your words about Rattlecage reminded me that I have long dreamed of a monster set that would give Major Brutality & Sorcery buffs, similar to Mighty Chudan Set

I don't get why you people don't use alliance green/blue pots. I've compressed brutality to that on most of my builds, easy skill slot. I get AP to buy them for just playing PvP.

There is a snare option on the second tier of knife throw stun that helped a little. I might try it again with chudan so I can slot another DOT. My problem was constantly have to reapply all my buffs.

I use blue on Templar. Though I find that the health and off resource recovery from tri-pots are generally more needed when fighting more difficult opponents.

I do on Cro, but it's a weakness. In BGs, if you die shortly after refreshing the potion, you'll respawn without the buffs and have to wait until Potion Cooldown to have them again. Weak. Cyro/IC, Detect is invaluable, so is Immovable - and there's Detect Immovable pots.

Nevermind health/resource restoration, Heroism, Vitality, the huge unnamed Armor buffs, etc.

    It's a weakness.

As for the Plar-Cro Pair, there are some obvious shared characteristics between Sun Fire and Siphon as sources of Savagery.

Brutality on Jabs isn't much better than Brutality on Skeleton, BUT since Templar has so many more viable Class Damage skills and the much-coveted Javelin, a Plar can run non-class Brutality at less expense of Identity/Fantasy than a Cro.

    In my view anyhow.

Only Necro I see are bombers using spin to win and in groups with warden, DK, and Arcanist to maximize the broken mechanics on cc effects and immunity. I get immunity but hard cc still apply the second right after I break out. Game definitely needs a full overhaul for its cc effects and immunity.

I haven't tried the Alliance potions (or craftable equivalents), but I love tri-stat potions for the instant resources and sustain buffs.

Have been trying a necro built with rallying cry backbar, bloodspawn, tarnished nightmare front bar, ring of markyn and running the shadow mundus.
Aim of the game is to get DB, Ulfsilds, Tarnished, BB, & 3rd Venom skull to hit around the same time (Need that DB stun though). It's been alright in CP campaigns the last couple of days, No-CP can really feel the lack of plugging the holes in the class/build such as being a crit build with very little crit damage, worse sustain, and lower damage in general.
Problems as well are that it's quite a bit of faff with having to juggle quite a bit at times (same old problems I guess), it also has quite a bit of downtime while you do that so plenty of time for others to react.
Sustain is pretty good but easy to eat through the whole of your res.
Cloak pretty much nullifies the entire build unless you want to get predictive with your DB or drop major sorcery/prophecy.
It's depending on the most meta stuff so will get nerfed at some point again. It also does beg the question why play it on Necro and not a more apt class.
To be honest it's best I could come up with all in all for just general results using a burst cro. It's not really original as it's using so much meta stuff.
I wouldn't pick it to take into a duel, BG, or no CP. It's rarely enough to swipe the whole health bar and it has very little pressure outside of the burst.
It's a bit of fun mind you at least for MyM but all in all I think I'll be sticking to my Templar as I have been since the drop of U41.

There's a fine line between being persistant and being a fool and with necro I think it leans more into being foolish trying to get it to work at an acceptable level for my intended purposes.
