Orgnum patron still too strong when favoring oponent

I really think Orgnum spam is still too much valid. I've just had a case when my opponent could generate 4 power on each patron pick in position unfavoring me. With turning back I only get 2 power and have to spend a lot of money that I cannot use to buy cards. In this the race is clear from the start. Just activate patron and the net power win is 2. To counter this I would have to have nice luck to get a good power generating card AND to have it always in my hand.

And no, sometimes you cannot select the suitable patron to counter Orgnum because you were the second to select the patron.

The change to the Orgnum Patron button did help, but ultimately the class is still flawed in a major way.

I wish I could say that I'm shocked in seeing the designers buff some of Orgnums best cards, the agents, but I'm not.

Once someone get's ahead by even just 2 okay cards, it's feasible for them to start abusing the Orgnum button. In the early game, even being denied 2 gold to flip the patron back every turn is enough to stay behind and never get ahead. Letting the opponent use an already favored Orgnum is rarely good to do.

It's easily the most unfun class since it amplifies the power of early pickups. Can one sometimes escape the inevitability of an early picked Siege Weapon Volley, Prophecy, or Pounce and profit? Sure, sometimes. Can someone escape that same inevitability when there is also a Orgnum button racing to the end of the game? not really.

Unfortunately, I don't think that the designers are open to making power rush strategies less viable.

Yeah its really a shame. Its arguably the worse designed deck of them all. Can't imagine a patron ability rework would be that difficult. I remember one game I got a round 2 or 3 armory + a volley shortly there after. I just spammed patron + those two cards the rest of the game. Was probably turn 6 and just did that for the next 10 mins and won. It was so lame. I hated doing it, but that's how that patron is played. And its so garbage.

The only way, to me, that you can properly counter orgnum spam is to either have a lot of agents or a ton of gold generation. Both are required for late game. Since this game is so LOVELY with how it uses RNG, its so so easy to get an early game advantage and hold it.

Swear this past week seems like half my pvp games had orgnum picked by the opponent. So disappointing. I've just gone back to NPCs and if they pick orgnum I restart. Its not fun. At all.

The design is flawed in a way that if you are ahead by a good buy turn one or two you can either force your opponent to not buy by using the patron.

The person behind has two choices, play into it and reset the patron back to Neutral or buy. Which depending on the tavern your choice is to stay behind if you can't buy. Good luck coming back when a favoured Orgnum is played twice as you're 7-10 power behind at this point and there isn't room for you to come back.

The problem lies in the fact that it's still too cheap when ahead with Orgnum. Not to mention Orgnum just changes the game to BECOME Orgnum only.

A few things to make the game not just about Orgnum is to make favoured more expensive (4 Gold) as it forces the player ahead to decide to buy or gain power.

Even something like a flat bonus like 1 Prestige per turn if favoured much in the same way as Ansei, which gives even emphasis on Orgnum's theme without making the game JUST Orgnum.

I would be in favour with the change from Power to Prestige as Orgnum is so powerful now that managing to set up agents is a risky play in of itself as counter play.

That's another thing. All of the 2 cost contracts popping up is absolutely disgusting in how they can impact the game. Oopsie, just got a 2 cost imprisonment + bonus to other combos in a game where power matters the most. Such design!
