Why do we still have a time penalty on conceding?

I have zero explanation on why we get a time penalty imposed on conceding in a ranked match when there is a so easy way to circumvent it by switching toons.

Devs don't care to give an explanation why there has to be a time penalty.

Now we still have the triple punishment (loss of reward AND time penalty AND loss of points) upon something that is simply normal and accepted behavior in real life: to concede a match when one consider it to be already lost. I can accept the loss of points easily. I also have a bit of understanding for not getting a reward. But a time penalty? Really?

Because part of being a game designer is having irrational fears.
    Don't tank

Win trading. The developers want to make it somewhat difficult to "trade" or give away wins. Like you said, you can bypass it via switching characters. But yeah some of the conversations I've heard in discords, seems like its fairly common for those in the higher tanks that always seem to have a high score. If you queue up at the same time as someone else, with this minigames ever declining population, there's a fairly high chance you can get matched against someone who queued at the same time.

Not surprising. A lot of pvp games with leaderboards have these type of issues.
